My 2000 Audi A6 2.7T starts hard in the mornings (3rd swing) and has a splutter on start up. Th car also overheats from time to time when driven hard. I have changed the thermostat, water pump and temperature sensor already. The heater also on goes on when it feels like it. What can cause this?
My 2000 Audi A6 2.7T is still overheting after I replaced the thermostat, ECU, electric water pump, had the system bled(twice!) and is now back at the workshop - still overheating. If you have "multiple fault codes", then it is likely you have multiple problems. However, without any of those codes, it would be pure guesswork for us to suggest anything.
If it were my car, I would google each code and see what the cause is, and replace what has gone bad. 220k km isn't all that much anymore.
Unfortunately there are many things that could be causing this. I would check the engine coolant temp. sensor ..and see what its reading with the engine hot. Your going to need a scan tool to get that reading...or just change the sensor...good luck
My 05 1.6 renault megane struggles to start in th morning and once it does fire up you hav to rev it to ensure it wont cut out. The car then splutters and judders a bit till its warm then it tend to run ok. but keeps on switching off at the robots when i stop please what could it be
If yours Audi A6 2.5 TDI engine will not start in morning, then you must check up (and replace if necessary) each glow plug & glow plugs relay if no burned glow plugs founded.
