99 corolla passenger window wont roll up

Turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Operate the windows from the master control switch. If none of the windows work, check the main fuse or breaker for the whole power window circuit. If only one of the windows is inoperative, go to Step 3.

  • 2 Check the main circuit relay using a test light. If voltage is coming out of the relay, there is an open or short at the wire feeding power to the other switches. If no voltage is coming out of the relay, use the test light to make sure voltage is reaching the relay. If voltage is reaching the relay, replace it. If there is no voltage reaching the relay, there is an open or short at the wire between the relay and the main fuse.
  • 3 Check the circuit fuse or breaker at the inoperative window. If the fuse or breaker is okay, go to the next step. If you can hear a humming sound as you press the switch but the window does not operate, either the motor is bad or its gearbox may have broken teeth. Go to Step 7.
  • 4 Turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Using a multimeter, check the master control lockout switch for continuity. If there is no continuity, replace the lockout switch. With some vehicle models, problems at the lockout switch can cause both rear windows to fail.
  • 5 Try the switch at the inoperative window and check for continuity using a voltmeter. If there is no continuity, replace the switch.
  • 6 Check for voltage at the switch using a test light. If voltage is not reaching the switch, there is an open or short between the incoming wire and the fuse or breaker for that circuit power window.
  • 7 Take off the trim panel from the inoperative window. Check for voltage at the motor with a test light while pressing the switch. If there is no voltage, there is a short or open at the wire between the switch and the motor. If the circuit is equipped with a relay, test for voltage reaching and coming out the relay. Make sure the relay is working properly. If voltage is reaching the motor, go to the next step.
  • 8 Detach the window from the regulator and inspect the regulator mechanism by moving the window up and down by hand. Make sure nothing restrains the mechanism. Also, inspect the motor gearbox. Replace any parts as necessary.

Windows only work from the drivers door controls

Check the master window control panel on the driver's door. There is probably a lockout switch. It may have a window outline on one end and the same outline with an "X" over it on the other. Press the outline without the "X" and all your windows should work again. As silly as that sounds, a lot of people hit that switch without knowing it. Also, if that switch(lockout) is faulty, none of the windows will work. That happens A LOT!!

Window fuse's and relay's may be up under driver or passenger side dash or behind glove box, under the hood and even under the seats, and finally on the ends of the dash. All passenger power windows and locks are controlled thru and get power from the master control switch on the drivers door.

I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee lardeo. my passenger window and rear passenger window will no longer work. neither do any of the locks on all doors. i have replaces all fuses and they still wont work.

    POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS

Window fuse's and relay's may be up under driver or passenger side dash or behind glove box, under the hood and even under the seats, and finally on the ends of the dash. All passenger power windows and locks are controlled thru and get power from the master control switch on the drivers door.

Drivers door window gets used the most so it could be the motor, window switch, relay or fuse.
Could also be a broken wire in the rubber boot going from the door to the body. You will have to eliminate each till you find the culprit. Check that all switches return to neutral when released.
The motor and the relay are the most likely to cause this problem. Try swapping the relay with a working window relay. If it still doesn't work, remove the door panel and remove the window motor.
Turn the motor shaft in both directions by hand several turns. Then plug the motor in and see if the switch will now run the motor. Sometimes that's all it takes to get it working again. I have had to do this with brand new motors. If voltage is not present at the motor connector, either a bad switch or a broken wire exists. Make sure to check for voltage coming to that windows switch.

    Try this....
Open the door, turn the key to the ON position without starting the engine and everything that makes noise is off. Lean down placing your ears close to the bottom center of the door or at the speaker grill. Press the window switch UP and DOWN. Listen for the window motor. If heard the drive is damaged. If not heard, turn key off and locate and replace the relay with one of the other window relays. Check window again. If it works now, get a new relay. More often than not, removing the motor and turning it by hand will get it working good as new. I have had to do that with Brand New motors! So try it.
If all has failed, with the door panel still off, check for voltage at the motor connector when pushing the window switch. No voltage means its the switch, especially if its a auto down or up switch.

Check the master window control panel on the driver's door. There is probably a lockout switch. It may have a window outline on one end and the same outline with an "X" over it on the other. Press the outline without the "X" and all your windows should work again. As silly as that sounds, a lot people hit that switch without knowing it. Also, if that switch(lockout) is faulty, none of the windows will work. That happens A LOT!!

How do I find a fuse diagram for a 2001 Toyota Celica the right front passenger window will not go up or down

Go to a local repair shop that has a Data Base
& have them print what you need

Check all fuses, don't need a diagram for that

If any window works,it won't be the fuse

If the fuse is blown, replacing it won't fix anything
    It will blow again,

So,you will need to check switches first, then remove
the door panel to access the window motor or
    window regulator.

My dash board and tail lights wont work. How do i

If in fact the fuses are ok then chances are it in the headlamp switch.

You can remove the headlamp switch and using a test light check the wires one at a time while moving the dimmer switch up and down. If you don't find a wire that fades from full bright test light to nothing then the headlight switch needs replaced. If you do find that the dimmer wire is working then chances are you either have a bad ground or a broken wire.

    My windows and airconditioning dosen

    Dear Madam or Sir,

there seem to be two different problems with you Explorer.

If all power windows are inoperable, there seems to be a blown fuse. You´ll find a fuse table and diagram within your owner´s manual.

If the fuse is O.K., there has to be a problem with the power windows control module, you have to see a mechanic to service that.

The cause of the inoperable air conditioning is probably a lack of coolant or a defecitve a/c compressor clutch, these are the most common failures on AC Systems. Unfortunately there are no user serviceable parts on an A/C system so this ist a job for the mechanic too.

Windows will not let up or down.

If all are inoperable, look at your fuses both under the hood and under the dash and if they appear ok, then look at the relays next...you can find free repair manuals online at www.autozone.com///good luck.

    Powerwindows

    Hi

Thank You for using FixYa. If No windows operate then:

Check circuit breaker in fuse box

Check battery voltage to lockout switch, lockout relay, window switch

Check for broken main wire between door and car body (door hinge area)

If battery voltage present at switch, check switch outputs.

Bad window lockout relay (if battery voltage at 2 terminals with key on) (64-70)

Bad window motors (rare for all to be bad unless car has set for a long time)

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

    Thanks
