2006 Kia Amanti... the brake lights stay on

If the brake lights stay on even if the car is turned off (or even if it is on) the first thing I would be checking is the brake pedal switch under the dash. Brake lights are activated when the brake pedal is depressed and comes off the switch or the return spring is broken or stretched not allowing it to fully return when foot is taken off the brake pedal.

My brake lights stay on constanly even while driving so people cant tell if im slowing down or just riding my brakes any idea what this could be coused by????????

Check the brake light switch. It is located up under the drivers side of the dash. It is either stuck on or it is out of adjustment.

My brake light stays on even though my ebrake is down? what is my car telling me?

Depends on car. But pretty much the same for most. The brake light can come on if the fluid is low in the master cylinder. Either from a leak or you need to change brakes. or the emergency brake switch is bad.

i would check yor brake light switch make sure its adjusted correctly whitch will be located behind your brake pedal remove it press the button in and out your brake lights should turn on and off if this dont happen i would try a new switch as it sounds to me like the switch is sending a constan 12 v feed to brake lights
