Check to make sure your fuse is set all the way down first. Could be a bad ground too. Check the wiring at the wiper motor and maybe clean the ground and terminals with either alcohol or electric cleaner and make sure the are dry before you plug it back in. It sounds like a power to the wiper motor issue. If that doesn't fix it your wiper motor may have an internal short.
there is an after run module controlled by a fan switch that will run the fan if the engine compartment is hot.the switch could be shorted,or the module is bad.the fan normally runs for a few minutes then turns off.
after i replaced the battery in my 2003 350z, it would stall immediatly after i cranked it on unless i gave it a little gas. I fixed this by cleaning the MAF and throtle body valve. Total supply costs were $15 and took about 20 minutes. My Z is not only fixed but runs smoother and cleaner.
The current draw is going to almost double, from 4.5 amps to 8.3,I wouldn't be so worried of the wiring ,it will handle the increase as I would of the your relays as this is where the increased draw is going to have the most affect.Generally all electrical componenets are designed to handle 33% over what they are rated at,they will work but this will shorten the lifespan of your relays by as much as 50%.
