94 nissan pathfinder. 3.0V6. timing belt change,

You must remove the timing belt and reset all positions carefully taking care to not bend valves when turning engine. It is already possible you may have bent valves

the marks for th cams are on the tin stuff behind the gears study it for a bit and nyoull see them the mark for the crank pully is on the case onthe bottom of the crank pully just of to one side

1. remove air intake pipe, and box (upper and lower section)
2. take off timing belt cover
3. take off serpintine belt, and v belt
4. rotate engine to TDC marks line up on crank and cam. camshaft says O^T on it and on the cover behind gear, crank has a notch in the pulley and a arrow on the cover to line up
5. remove crank pulley 6mm allens not the 19mm 12 bolt
6. make sure timing belt is still at TDC remove lower timing belt cover there is 3 bolts and a nut holding it on the nut is by the water pump and the bolts are on on top and 2 behind the crank pulley
7. remove cover
8. mark intermediate shaft shaft right above the crank pulley
9. remove belt
10. install reverse of removal make sure to line up all 3 pulleys cam crank and intermediate shaft or it wont run and depending on how bad it is out of time if you do it wrong you could bend valves

Assuming this is a 2.0 8v your question is pretty vague

yes you will have to remove the timing belt and crank pully. It is not as bad as it looks. You might as well, while you are in there, change the thermostat and new Timing belt and tensioner pully.
The trick I use, (and I have done hundreds of Timing belts) I use a good paint pen to mark the timing belt and gears. make sure to mark it so you know what marks are for what cam and crank. and which direction it goes. then on the new belt crefully transfer the marks. then it goes really smooth and there is no guessing hoping it is properly lined up on the factory marks. and you dont have to line every thing up before you take off the belt either. just mark it and remove it where the motor stopped..If you do it this way, you dont have to worry about trying to line up the cams and crank to there respective marks, just the ones you made, then there is no mistake.

big job you will have to remove the timing belt to do it so you might as well change it since you will have it off,but i don' t recommend just any body do it as you will need metric bolt puller set to remove the crank pulley,but mostly you remove the radiator shroud and everything in the way of the plastic belt covers as they have to come off to access belt and water pump.its about four hour job with professional tools.

I am assuming you have the 3.3 litter v-6?I just did my own so I can offer you a few words of personal advice. Make sure, before you remove the crank shaft pulley, that the engine is at TDC. There is a pointer on the lower timing cover that should line up with the mark that is furthest to the left on the crank pulley (looking at it from the front of the truck). If you are replacing the timing belt for maintenance, not failure, make several marks on the cam pullies to the rear of the timing cover with a paint pen before removing the old belt and make sure that everything stays aligned to those marks upon reassembly. If this method is not an option, use the timing dimples on the back of the upper timing cover only as reference points for the cam pulleis (this is where I ran in to trouble). What is most important is that there are exactly 40 teeth on the belt between the marks on the cam pullies and 43 teeth between the right cam pully mark (right cam as you look at the engine from the front of the truck) and the mark on the crank pully. I used a Goodyear Belt that actually had marks that indicated the 40 and 43 tooth increments. Make sure you have the belt on the right directon, arrows to the front of the truck. Again it is very important that the crank pully remain at TDC (top dead center) during the entire process. Good luck, hope you get it the first time and not the second like me!!

Did you try looking through the fuse panels or relays?

just get a new timing belt the marks will be on it point the arrows toward the front of the truck and line the marks on the cams and crank with the lines on the belt there will be a dimple on the cams and crank those are the timing marks good luck

The cam sprockets should have marks on them (dimples) that should align with marks on the rear timing cover. There should also be a similar dimple on the crankshaft timing sprocket. These will align with their respective marks when the engine is at TDC. The alignment marks are in the following locations as you look at the front of the engine: RH cam sprocket at approximately 11:00, LH cam sprocket at approx 1:00, Crankshaft timing sprocket at approx 4:00 or 5:00. IF you can't find the marks on the cover, put the marks on the sprockets in those approximate positions and set the belt by using a belt tooth count between the marks. Cam to cam should be 40 teeth between the cam marks. Between the LH sprocket and the crank mark should be 43 teeth. You can check TDC by removing your number 1 cylinder spark plug and carefully inserting a long screwdriver and watching the rise/fall as you hand crank the crankshaft into position (which is much easier with the plugs out)
