First you want to check your battery cables for acid buildup, Then find out if the battery has cranking amps. Last the starter solenoid could be malfunctioning. All of these can be checked out but some will need to be removed.

Your battery is in need of charge, or there is a bad connection (corrosion) at the terminals. Try to jump start, check connections. If you still can't start it, bring the battery to a store for a free check of it's condition. Let me know if this does not solve the problem.

I would like to know how many lifters a toyota previa has?

On for each valve

You have to know how many cylinders
& valves per cylinder--Google it

You can't fix the noise anyway, without
taking the engine apart

The motor is probably worn out, if it is in there
since 1995

My 1997 Audi A6 Quattro is not starting but making a clicking noise. It did not start even after I recharged the battery and it still made the same clicking noise!

mine 97 audi a6 did the same thing, jack up the front passenger side, remove the wheel, and hit the starter a few times with a bar, and she will crank! promising results!

When my truck gets hot it doesn't want to start. Sometimes if you wiggle the key it will start, but when it doesn't start, it makes a clicking noise.

the clicking noise is most likely coming from the solenoid on the starter motor, the solenoid is like a big switch with contacts inside of it,when you turn the key to start the engine these contacts come together to transfer the power to the starter motor,if the solenoid can't be taken apart & the contacts cleaned or replaced it will have to be replaced.......hope this helps....cheers

My 91 previa has started making a loud noise in the front we took the belts off and it does not make the noise. put new belts on and it is a quieter, but still makes noise. wondering how to tell if it is...

if you have taken off the belts and there is no sound check the bearings on the pulleys wiggle the bearings and spin them any sounds come from them they need replacing. replacing oil help with the problem but a bearing could be damaged .

97 neon wont start i just hear a clicking noise in the relay area

1st check the connections at the battery for corrosion, clean and make sure you have a tight connection. Bring the battery to a parts store, they will check it's condition for free. It may be bad, and all you need to do is replace it. If they find it's not charged fully, bad connections at cables or alternator may be to blame.

I had the same problem also on my 1994 previa supercharge

u mean is knocking noise?
i think it came from the shaft in front of engine that drives the accesories pully in front. when the a/c is running or the rpm rise up a bit, the noise is gone. try go under the vehicle and spot where the noise come from. as i know is come from the shaft in front of the engine. the coupling need to be replace.
