Take a good look you will find only a couple of large screws you need to undo under the steering coulum yes it can be a bit tricky but your aim is to get at the plate above or behind the brake pedal when you get there you will see the small switch if its loose tighten. Most likly needs replaced very easy done.Just make sure you tighten it wnen you replace it.cost about 5 dollers.adrian,,,,,

Brake lights stay on, 2002 Honda Accord EX 4 cylinder

The brake lights work regardless of the ignition switch. There is normally a switch mounted under the dashboard, that presses against the brake pedal hangar. Normally, when you press the brake pedal, this switch loses contact with the hangar, and the brake lights come on. If the switch gets broken or out of adjustment, the brake lights can stay on at all times. This will eventually kill the battery. Readjust or replace the brake light switch.

Could be the switch for the hand brake. You might try unplugging it to see if the light goes off.

My break lights stay on

Sounds like the brake light switch at brake pedal is faulty.Get yourself underneath the dashboard and have a look at the brake pedal. There should be a switch behind the pedal. Disconnect wire going to switch. Are the lights out? If so,get a new switch. Problem solved.

Electronic connector for brakes on Hyundai Accent

hi from uk the part you mention is the brake stop light switch it has a plug on 2xwire plug it operates by as pedal is pressed the plunger of switch moves out and connects the 2xwire circuit and so brake lights operate this switch simply unscrews from the pedal box/carriage after plug removed then the new switch screwed in place and with b/pedal off the switch is screwed to a point that if you press pedal down approx 1/2 " the switch plunger moves out and b/lights come on this is trial/error untill you are happy with the pedal movement down till lights operate SIMPLE ! hope this helps?

Tail Lights stay on all the time.

under the dashboard on the drivers side. look at the brake pedal lever. there should be a switch attached. push switch in and twist to remove. then pull the button as far out as it will go. while holding brake pedal down reinstall switch. then pull pedal up to top. this will reset the brake light switch. if they stay on still, then just replace the brake light switch.
