Stalling/Idle Issues I'm having stalling/idle problems with my automatic 1994 Toyota Camry: 1.) When pulling out of a full stop (at a stop sign), my RPMs will dip, and the car will hesitate a little as I start to go. When accelerating while driving this does not happen. 2.) When going from park to drive after driving (such as when I go to the store, park, and then want to pull up before I turn the car off), my car will stall. It idles at about 500 RPMS will at a full stop, shoots up to 1100 when I go into park, and then will stall when I put it back into drive. We just checked the air filter and it looks fine, recent maintenance includes new belts, new fuel pump, regular oil changes. Most recently a couple of weeks ago we had to get the timing belt adjusted, it was off by a notch. Any thoughts?

Idle adjustment should be @600 to 700 RPM with the car in gear and emergency brake on if the car is an automatic trans. Adjust idle accordingly. If a standard the idle should be @ 650 RPM at idle.

The AC solenoid isn't working. When you turn on the AC this solenoid on the throttle will kick the idle up a little to keep it from stalling when you let off the pedal.

replace the IAC valve, it sounds like it is still sticking!!

this is the cause.
Here is the common cause of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

It sound like your idle air control valve is sticking and will need to be replace.
