Found a 2002 santa fe that needs a crank sensor...is this an expensive fix and what other problems could I run into because of this

Broken timing belt?

Speed sensor is usually found under the brake booster has a clamp down retainer and pulls up an out need to disconnect battery when installing item to reset computer after replacement some year models require recalibration has to be done by dealer with proper eqipment

Behind the timing belt. Takes quite a bit of work to replace it.

more than likely the crank sensor is the fix. once the engine cools down the sensor also cools .
if you could take it out right away and shoot freon on it and put it back in it would start wright up.

I have just had similar problem was on my way to work and car just stopped like it ran out of fuel . my balance shaft belt broke which caused the timing belt to jump a tooth still waiting for a quote for repair its up to $2000 so far through hyandai. after looking at other web sites realised this is a common fault with 2002 santa fe. you may want to get the crank angle sensor checked as well as my car has done two so far. hope this helps and your car is not as serious as mine

on the 2.7 the fuel pressure regulater is prone to leaking, worth checking it out

What kind of problems? No Crank or Cranks but wont Run? What have you checked? Have you checked all the connections that you had apart? have you checked all ground wires? Especially the ground wire from the battery to the eng/ trans.
