The iac valve adjusts your idle if you somehow left a vacuum hose off or the air intake hose lose your engine wont run or if it does it will run very rough other wise check you maf sensor located near the air box

01 ford explorer sport won't stay running. turns over fine and starts but quits right away

Check for vacuum leak at intake manifold or bad fuel pump relay or have fuel pressure checked to see if fuel pump is working properly 40-45 psi it should be pumping

92 ford explorer wont start when it is hot. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel regulator, fuel relays, IAC valve, ran a new wire to the fuel pump, and changed the fuel twice.

Take it to Ford and have them run their troubleshooting machine on it.Costs about 70 bucks and sometimes if they do the repair, this cost is removed from the bill. Ask Ford. don-ohio

I have a 1999 Ford Explorer that wont run. It cranks and if I give it gas it will start but it doesnt idle at the 500 it should idle at it just dies. Ive read about the IAC and taken a look at it, its...

clean the iac, and then replace it. if its bad. check vacuum lines and run some good injector fluid in tank, maybe the injectors are clogging up. but clean iac first to see if this takes care of problem.
