I have to say that getting rid of a cigarette smell is almost impossible, that was the principle reason why I kicked the habit. I just switched from cigarettes to vapmod v-mod https://gypsyvapes.com/vapmod-vmod-900mah-kit and I have to say that the smell is many times better.

Getting rid of cigarette smell is nigh on impossible, without taking down the whole dash/heater matrix/a/c system.and steam cleaning the whole thing.you could try an aerosol spray(from a dealer)that you spray into the outside air vent, but that only maskes it,unless it is very strong.(the nicotine sticks to everything)smoking should be banned in cars......same as cellphones.....

Smelling exhaust while in traffic

Are you sure is exhaust emission or a fuel smell? If is others Exhaust emission, and is coming in the cabin possible you might have ventilators not working properly,or the doors under the dashboard are kept slight open allowing the outside smell or getting inside the cabin. On the dashboard there is a circulation air button, press it to work. What that button does? Is blocking the outside air coming in and the air you are using iis the inside cabin air only. Use that button for a day and see whether you have any improvement. If so you have to go back to the dealer and explain. Surely they will help you.

How to get rid of cigarette smell in car vents

Use air fresheners to eliminate smoke smell. After cleaning out the car, raid your pantry for odor eliminators. Dryer sheets placed under seats will help freshen the air. Also consider putting an open box of baking soda or a bowl of kitty litter in the car to absorb cigarette smell

Before spending money check your vacum line going to accutator switch that is located under the hod on firewall. Originaly what it does is switch your system from floor, windshield and dasboard to blow te air in these directions. If it is stuck in one position and even when you try to switch the position lever moves but nothing is hapenning indicates that vacum line is broken.Let me know what did you find!

My 2003 TrailBlazer has a foul smell from the air system. What could be causing this smell? It's a sour smell not a dead animal smell. Is there a cabin air filter? I've read several posts and some say...

you can buy a deoderiser that kills all known airborn nasties, you spray it into the air inlet of any aircon unit, the only smell that it will NOT get rid of is cigarette smoke.that sticks to the filter/condenser and all the vents...nasty.
