some engine run different heads, and different if turbo.
I don't know if this is the right place.
But I have a 98 Pajero 4m40. It starts and idles nicely, but upon acceleration, engine sounds terrible, almost like a non turbo L200 engine, even with the intercooler connected and turbo whistling. Please help.
your turbo sounds like its a bit on the sick side to me it should kick in at 1800---2000rpm so your thrashing the engine till it gets to 2500rpm time it was looked at
Check your altinator wires are clean and tight.I have had some cars with that problem and its been the altinator regulator is the fault. Allthough the charge light goes out its still faulty.
possibly a clogged exhaust system.. Take the 02 sensor out and test drive. If better or the cat is rattling most likely the cat will need to be replaced
iv only st come on here and seen this post i know exactly what this problem is. it's the waste gate in the turbo gets full of carbon and then over boosts itself and put on the engine management light and when you turn the key on and off it resets it. so what you have to do id take the turbo off and clean out the waste gate which is on the exhaust side and that will get rid of all your problems and the better you clean it out the longer it will last.
