A/C -Heater Blower switch won't work even with switch ON? Our 2000 Grand Vitara's A/C - Heater Blower speed switch recently stopped working. The air would blow out fine when we "inherited" the car, but a couple months after using the air, the air would blow out intermittently. (Hit and miss) and (air flow was fine). If we pressed in or put pressure on the blower speed switch, the air would blow out. When we let go of the air speed switch, the air would cut off. Checked the fuse(s). They seem to be OK. SO...could this be a faulty wiring/ground issue? I want to check behind the panel, but can't figure out the easiest way to access it. (Don't want to unscrew anything I don't have to!) Any help would be appreciated! ....and thanks in advance!

I would think the blower motor is defective, the brushes are worn out and that explains the intermittent operation.

Pull the selector panel out. The wires may not be completly connected behind panel. Push in on each individual wire. Try it before you put it all back together. Look for a used one at a salvage yard.

SOURCE: htr fuse blown.no heater or blower working.blows fuse instantly

I would have taken it back immediatly and told them that it worked before and oesnt now since they worked on it and you would appreciate it if they at least looked at it.

If they refuse, then never go back and you will have to trace the problem using a voltemeter.

Make sure the fuse is the right Amperage.

Buy a repair manual from a auto parts saled store and see what else connects to that fuse, you could have a bad blower motor, or some other wire that got damaged durring the clutch install.

good luck

SOURCE: heater blower makes noise on high speed

it is either a bad switch or window motor. finding a wiring diagram and shooting power to the correct wire will identify whether the switch or motor is faulty.

SOURCE: The blower works blowing only cold air no heat? I

The heat is generated by a radiator located in your dash using engine coolant. You don't have heat because the valve that is controlling the coolant flow is closed - either it or the commands that is controlling it are broken - find which and fix them.

Testimonial: "Is this valve easily accessible? How do you keep it open? Commands, is that computer realted?"

SOURCE: Heater will not work. Blower will not come on.

Did you check the fuses by eye or measure the voltage with a meter? There may be a separate fuse panel in the engine compartment as well as in the interior. Look for a fuse marker Accessories too. The blower, radio, etc are controlled by the access. circuit.

Testimonial: "well it was a good idea fuse and master fuse ok got to be a relay some where but it is not in the eng comp. box."

SOURCE: Hi, I have a 2007 suzuki grand vitara and recently

Check the fan by connecting 12V direct to the fan. If running the failure is probably due to defective regulator - called the fan resistor. The Fan resistor can be found behind the glove compartment mounted in/on the air channel. The unit/component must be replaced.

My heater won't turn on and has power to it

If blower motor has power but won"t run, blower may be faulty or the thermostatic switch maybe bad. If the thermostatic switch is bad, the blower may have 1 speed or in your case, no speeds at all. The thermostatic switch is usually located on top of,or on the heater box or housing if you will, most often times close to the blower. Will have a plug with multiple wires going to it.

Air condition and heat won't work

Check to see if you are getting voltage to the blower motor if you are the motor is bad if not check the fan speed switch. 1 2 3 or low medium high if you get voltage going to the switch but not from replace the switch if you have voltage from switch check the blower motor resistor the although with the blower resistor you commonly have a high fan speed in the max setting and the lower speed settings don't work wich would make you think 1 2 3 are not working but 4 is. That is why it is best to check all parts to make sure the part you do replace needed to be replaced

My suzuki grand vitara is not starting after a roll over

No roll over switch on this model, pull the spark plugs and clean them, turn it over with the plugs out with rags over the motor to catch any oil. then put the plugs in and try it again, it won't take much oil on the plugs to stop it starting.

Heater fan switch won.t work on 1,2,3 but only on 4 setting

this is a very simple problem, just replace the blower motor speed control resistor, it is in the air ducting right next to the blower motor.
