What can i do about water leaking from under the dash when the a/c is on? how can you fix the transmission slipping?
the display on the radio went out and the buttons wont work. if i replace it with an after market stereo will my steering wheel controls work?
With A/C your problem is condensation, you may have an A/C tube that has damage or a small cut throughout the connection, or it could be the clamp. Go under the dash and see where it leaks from and just remove the plastic tubing or hose. You can get that part at Autozone, lappens or Pep Boys.
You can replace the radio with an aftermarket but the steering wheel controls wont work unless you hook up the steering wheel control adapter , where ever you buy the radio ask for that interface or any car stereo shop will sell it to you and you will be all set.

There are several... which one are you looking for. Main bus is under the hood, drivers side right in front of the 'jumper post'. The transmission computer is under the dash below steering column.
On the Cobalt the car maker says that the fluid level only needs to be checked when the fluid is drained or when you have an obvious leak.If the fluid were to go low it would slip or you would loose drive. If you put to much fluid could foam and cause fluid loss.I would recommend that you take it to a shop and let them check it since the check plug is under the car.
If the wheel is turned in either direction, pull the whell in that direction and try getting the key out. If that doesn't do it, try shifting the automatic transmission from Park back to drive, and then to park again to disengage the interlock.
check your heater coil under the dash on passanger side for leak at joint areas. it could be condensation from the AC condencer dripping down the line that goes into the firewall, if so seal that area with a good sylicone.
you will need to do a security relearn.

It sounds like you need a brake light switch. It is mounted under the dash on the pedal assembly. It is easy to change, just twists in place. Good Luck
