Half of dash instruments are not working, half of odometer and gear selector stay lit when van is turned off. Temp gauge and fuel gauge work, tachometer and speedometer do not work; can only see the thousands of miles on odometer, and can only see P, N, R on the gear selector lights.

Is it only the gauges or the all the instruments and heater controls? The first place I'd look at will be the dimmer switch. Normally the instrument lighting shares the same circuit as the parking/valet lights.

Sometimes on Cavaliers and Sunfires giving the area right above the dash a good WACK brings the dash back on line.If this does not bring it back,a good used dash would be the next thing to try.An easy change.

Check wirring for damage

If all voltages checked ok,then most probably its faulty instrument cluster board on which gauges are connected.Yes if cluster circuit board looks ok,then also it can be faulty.Somewhere there is minute short or burn on board then such prolem arises.
Also check the fuse box.One under hood and other under dash.Inspect each and every fuse and see if all are fine or not.

your gauges need to be replaced it sounds like you have a bad mother board on it.

check the fuses in your manual it will tell you which fuses are for the dash and replace them it sounds to me like they are blown! good luck

Blown Fuse or fried Circuit board. Take to a local AutoZone, Advance, Murray's, O'reillys or a similar part house for them to check the wiring. I'm assuming the van does not use a mechanical Speedometer or Fuel Gauge.

On the plus side, with no speedometer, your indicated odometer mileage does not increase. Just keep your speed down and your tank full. Kidding, just kidding.

Fuse for the instrument panel is possibly blown. Check your owners manual for the proper location of the fuse. If you do not have a manual they are available online in PDF version.

must be the dash connection in the back, need to demount dash panel, and spray wd40 on the connections.
