Rough Idle when cold runs seems to run ok hot but still almost stalls when you turn on AC and you are at a stop also noticed that the volt meter reads 9v with the AC and the lights on with the AC and lights off the volt meter reads 14volts I an not sure it thius has anything to do with the rough idle here is what I have replaced so far to solve this problem I have replaced spark plugs, wires, rotor cap, O2 sensor, and air control solenoid, fuel filter, air filter.

Car runs rough when ac is cut on. seem like it puts a load on engine.

I believe your A/C idle up valve may have failed. They do this when hot, but test OK when cold. See here p228

Mcdevito75 here, Sounds like a faulty voltage regulator, it"s 1 unit with the alternator, change the alternator, also the alt. supplies juice to the ignition switch, distributor abd plugs, thus a rough idle due to bad alternator.

2000 SLT GMC Idle problem when cold when It gets to operation tempiture 190 degrees no problem with Idle,changing the plugs no change in Idle problem?

You have to check outside the box, im willing to bet that your iac motor is bad. When you r iac (idle air control is bad it will idle down and rough under any load on the motor, in turn drop of voltage. Also if you have a bad temp sending unit your iac motor will not function proper. good luck!

After changing the IAC soleniod and other parts there was no change, I then purchased a fuel pressure kit and found that the fuel pressure was low and not within spec. found that the fuel pump was failing, installed new fuel pump sending unit problem solved
