You don't need a new car, that's a bad reply! Honda engines only throw a rod if they haven't been maintained ie. regular oil changes. Engines are dirt cheap (from a breakers) and an afternoon (or weekend if you've never done it before) to drop a new engine in. A scaffolding pole and lots of rope to lift the engine out and drop the new one in.

Get a manual and it tells you step by step how to do it. You'll have added knowledge and know your new engine well.

Check all of the fuses on your fuse panel under the hood. Pull them out and clean them and put them back in unless you notice that one is blown, then replace it.

1990 Honda Civic under 100,000 kms. Head gasket fixed 2008, again in 2009 and now we've been told it's going again....is this normal...or have we been duped by a bad repair shop twice?

unfortunately, even if it is a bad repair shop, it is normal. if the head gasket is blown, then oil and coolant, which are the two important fluids escape the engine quickly, causing damage to the whole motor. the best route to take would either have been rebuilding the motor, or getting a used one. like i said, the whole motor gets damaged, and even in trying to replace only the damaged parts, it is nearly impossible to get all of them without simply rebuilding the motor, so your best step would be a rebuild. i hope this helps. goodluck

How do i replace the fuse for the AC of 1990 honda civic hatchback? It was done last wek but has blown again!

look under the hood in the fuse box read the lid and find the fuse labled A/C. pull the fuse out with a fuse puller or pliers or your fingers and replace with a new one. fuses dont just blow for no reason- if it keeps blowing you have a bigger problem somewhere

1990 Honda Civic oil not going though filter

Your oil pump, located in the oil pan, is not working. This is VERY serious and you should not run the engine until it is fixed.
