I did a head gasket on a 99 pontiac montana 3.4L. I did not mark my valves when i pulled them out and already put the heads and lower intake on and do not want to pull them all off to figure out which valves are whick. Wondering if you could tell me in order on left and right bank which ones are which. Thank you very much

It is a 3.4L and I need to know the lay out for the pushrods. The exhaust pushrods are longer then the intake pushrods. I did not put them in a particular order when I took them out so I did not know to which lifter they were suppose to go to. But I am pretty sure I got them now cause there is only one way that makes sense on them.

Are you talking about the push rods, if so the short ones are for the intake valves and the long ones are for the exhaust valves their are only 2 different lengths

99 pontiac montana overheaten already changed thermostat what is it?

you have a GM common problem and that is a bad intake manifold gasket. GM change the gaskets to plastic and they crank and leak causing over heating. here is a picture of one i took from a 2005 pon. bonneville with 74,000 miles on it2_12_2013_3_00_09_am.jpg

Coolant in oil ??????

Head gasket. If you have a V-6, have someone do a cylinder bleeddown test. It will save you from having to pull both heads. You only need to work on the bad one.

2001 montana is over heating and i replaced the radator and the thermasat and flushed it real good the water pump seems to be working

If the cooling fans are coming on and the upper and lower hoses are both hot than I am 99% positive you have bad head gaskets. It's not uncommon on the 3.4 liter engines. To confirm, with the engine cold remove the radiator cap. Start the engine and watch the coolant in the radiator. If you see a constant percolation of air bubbles coming out of the radiator that you more than likely have a bad head gasket(s).

I have a 99 pontiac montana i have had a head worked, intake gasket and went thru 2 radiaiors what can be makin my car still run hot and bust my radiator

Check the thermostat it may not be opening also there is a bleed screw this needs to be opened while filling the radiator and the engine is at operating tempreture. to let the air out of the system otherwise no water circulates through the engine.

The heater in my 2004 Pontiac Montana isn't putting out adequate heat. The blower is working fine.

THE 97-04 MONTANA HAS THE 3.4 ENGINE WHICH HAS AN ISSUE WITH FAULTY INTAKE MANIFOLD & HEAD GASKETS WHICH FAIL TO SUSTAIN CIRCULATION IN THE COOLING SYSTEM AND CAUSE AN INAEQUATE HEATING SITUATION. REPLACE WITH FELPRO GASKETS AND YOUR PROBLEMS ARE OVER, PROVIDING ENGINE IS NOT DAMAGED!

Help me with a motor interchange

Believe it or not all GM 300 series motors are very similar and they all give head or intake problems whether its in the grand am, grand prix or montana the 3.4 is just that a 3.4. GMs not going to make a different 3.4 for each car they're all the same, it will fit. Do yourself a favor and make sure its not the intake gasket thats the actual culprit.
