2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee tail light problem. When the lights are turned on the rear right tail light and blinkers do not work. When the lights are turned off they work like normal. A ground issue maybe? Does anyone have any solutions on how to fix this?

Hello Anon.
battery charged, fuses good, F10 is RR. park
trailer wring hacks? (inspections find that) and collision damage there RR.
does RF work with RR fails>? both ends of car have park and blink.
I avoid Tail word for that one fact.
if you scan the PCM with a scan tool, are there DTC errors.
not scanning makes work 10x harder.!

"rear right tail light and blinkers do not work." both are dead? "and"
then turn off parks and blinks start working?
maybe the parks and blink wires shorted to gether.
what does not work mean, dead, or stuck on?
all key facts in diagnosis. all that.
i have 2007 GC FSm.

there are 4 elements (lamps actual there)
park is seperate from blink , totally.

the MIP module under hood drives turns off sperate drivers.
LF, RF ,LR, RR. so RR is bad. and not related to front like old cars.
park feed
all park lines go to a single point, the park relay 7 output.
so if something shorts to park all parks mess up.
each line has a fuse. so each can die by self.
There is only 1 park relay #7

so my question is, do any other park lamps mess up.
you said the blinks and parks (tail) do not work.
so? what about all park lamps. side and front.

if only RR fails, no other symptoms, i concur, bad ground. there.

a volt meter can measure bad grounds
with wire to battery neg,
and red meter at ground on lamp base.
if not 0v, or less than (0.5v) a 1/2 volt, its bad.

SOURCE: where is the fuse for the tail lights for jeep '96 grand cherokee

Unfortunately, could not find owners manual for 1996.

Website only has models 2004-current
=> http://www.jeep.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html

There are two fuse boxes. One under driver compartment usually left to the steering colum. A label is stamp to identify each fuse. I would look at Park Lights and Instrument Cluster fuses. The easy way is to take a flashlight and look at all fuses. If they are all okay. Then just remove the Park Lights and Instrument Cluster fuse and reseat them. The other fuse box is under the hood and near the batter. It also has a label to identify each fuse.

SOURCE: 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Left Tail/Stop Light Inop.

You need to check for power and ground. If you dont have a volt meter you can get a good cheap one from radio shack. If there is no power recheck with a known good ground. All the lights on that side share a common ground. Check the sockets for signs of burning or corrosion. There is a plug in the left rear quater panell. If you have no power check the corrisponding wire at that connector. The wires splice togeter just before the connector. So if the other brake/tail light is working you know the problem is after that. Hope this helps. Im sure you'll find the problem.

SOURCE: 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, how to replace rear tail light

I thinking tha you are fix the CHMSL (Central High Mounted Stop Light); review the Service Manual, the section ZJ-Secc-8L-Lamps (page 7, fig. 11).

SOURCE: 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo: No power to left tail light

Traced the problem to the Lamp Outage Module located in the rear left quarter access panel behind the spare tire. Arcing had occurred on the left taillight line. Fortunately this part is readily available at your local Jeep recovery yard (none available in the U.S. from dealers). Recommend J& W Auto Wreckers in Antelope, CA (web site available). Massive number of Jeeps and fair prices. If you don't want to replace the LOM then you can join the two connectors that go into the LOM (LOM is optional) but you'll always show a lamp failure on your console.

Tail and brake lights on right rear are out

The most common culprit is a blown fuse.

Your manual should be able to direct you to the location of the fuse box and applicable fuse. Replace fuses only with those of the same rating called for in the manual.

2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee right taillight only one NOT working.

When you are using the keyless entry you are flashing the turn signals... which are also the brake lamp filiment.
The park lamps on that side of the car simply dont work.
There is probably an open somewhere in the wire to that lamp. The lamps are fed through the wiring harness on the drivers side. Your break in the line is somewhere between the left and right in the rear. You can try to find it or run a jumper from left to right under the rug and save some pain. Your call.

2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee..tail ligts and blinkers do not work when headlights are on..they work otherwise..another problem when headlights or running lights are on and I use left blinker, it blinks...

mporteous, It sounds like you have a light switch problem. I can't think of any other reason for the running lights and tail lights not working in this situation. Are your brake lights working when the headlights are off and how about when they are on? Do your four ways hazard lights work in these situations? Try all the lights under these conditions. The reason the left turn signal blinks very fast is because one of the bulbs are burned out. Try the left signal and one light (front or back) will stay on and the other will not come on at all. Replace the bulb that does nothing. Do this before you try all the lights in different situations. I think that you will have to replace the light switch. Good luck with this.

Wireing a pig tail onto 95' jeep grand cheerokee.

The kits are great, they work, They eliminate the need for running extra wires for the brake and blinker, they don't mix well. Also, you need a real good ground on your trailer or you will get dim lights, or no lights at all.

1999 jeep grand cherokee - brake lights and turn signals working but Right tail light out with all other lights on--HELP??? My 1999 Grand Cherokee has no parking lights in the rear. The brake lights work...

I have taken my car to many shops to solve this problem. Long story short your tail light has a bad circut and entire lamp must be replaced. (Lamp cost approximate $130.00)

Right tail light went out.

I have had the same issue recently. I have a 2002 Gr Cherokee Ltd 4.7L. At first I thought it was the bulb, replaced the bulb to no avail. Then I thought maybe the bulb was rattled loose due to my subwoofer, but that still was not the case. After testing all my fuses I decided to test all of my lights. The hazards worked, back up lights came on, tail and brake lights were all working also but for some reason the blinkers will go out and the right rear brake light will not come on. It always comes back on for me though, so now I just use hand signals when it is temporarily not working. My only suggestion is a problem in the wiring.
