Turn the ignition to on but do not start the truck.
Press the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.
Turn key to off. It should be reset.

If not, try again. Good luck.

To reset the oil life monitor and get rid of the "Change oil Soon" message turn the key to accessory (engine off) and press the gas pedal fully three times in a row. It sometimes takes a few attempts but will reset the light.

2004 GMC Sierra Computer reset ??

I would suggest stopping by an AutoZOne or O'Reilly's and "borrow" their Scan Tool to erase any codes.
TO reset the "Change Oil" light, turn the ignition to ON (do NOT start the car). Press the accelerator pedal all the way down (then release) to the floor 3 times in less than 5 seconds. Change Oil light should flash then go off. If not, try it again. The trick is to get this done in 5 seconds ro less.
