How do I locate/replace crankshaft senor on my Isuzu trooper 3 litre diesel car 2001 year .I have been told this is a big job coouls nayone advise please

Yes you can . Requires some skills but the only bits that dont work after are the speedo and the rev counter .

These can be made to work but its a bit tricky ..

Is it a diesel or petrol  engine  ? diesels leak behind the high pressure oil pump - 3 O seals there and if they blow the seals on the big steel oil pipe into the head it will be bad too.

on petrol V6 engine its right rear side of inlet manifold(left side when looking into engine bay) see pics. below
diesel its on inlet manifold left side middle section of manifold

that motor should be a 3.2 litre... 6VD1 there are timing marks for the cams and crankshaft... one is to the left of the left cam... the other is to the right of the right cam.... and the marks for the crankshaft pulley are at the 9 and 3 position on a clock.

the 2.3 litre appears to be a single cam

cant start deisel 3.0 lilter sounds like there is no fuel getting to the engine

Was it lined up right as the trigger point for the sensor is important.Is the fly wheel fitted one position only that the bolt holes line up or will it fit no matter which position it bolts up Line up the flywheel trigger with the sensor after you have put the engine to Top Dead Centre.Put at tdc and see if the trigger and sensor are together.

Yes this is no prob, best get complete 3.1l jeep to do just finished one and it is perfect.
