Need to Clean the Air-Condition Filter in Suzuki Alto 2006

Changing the cabin air filter is fairly easy to do if you follow this how-to guide. New vehicles usually come equipped with one or more cabin air filters. A cabin air filter provides fresh air through the passenger compartment side vents. Step-By-Step Guide
  1. The first thing you need to do is locate your owner's manual to find out if your vehicle is equipped with a cabin air filter. If you can't find the information, then your car is probably not equipped with a cabin air filter. However, if you would like to be sure, call your favorite parts store and they can provide you with the information.
  2. When you purchase the new cabin air filter, be aware that there are 2 types of filters. One is called the particulate; the other is called the activated charcoal. The particulate filters out road dust, bacteria, mold spores, pollen and other pollutants. The activated charcoal filters the above mentioned and filters harmful gasses and odors. People who drive around in gridlock or have an odor problem might consider buying the activated charcoal, though it is more expensive.
  3. After purchasing the filter, make sure you have your eye protection, gloves, ratchet, socket and screwdriver before beginning the procedure.
  4. Remove the glove compartment. Usually, vehicles are equipped with bolts and screws to hold the glove compartment in. Your glove compartment may have tabs as well, so be careful when removing the compartment and use the tabs to remove.
  5. After removing the bolt and the screws, remove the glove box frame.
  6. Locate the filter housing. Look for a removable plastic filter cover.
  7. Remove the filter. Most under-dash filters can be removed simply by opening the filter door.
  8. Before installing the new filter, vacuum the filter chamber to remove any excess particles. You may also take a damp cloth and wipe the inside of the air filter chamber to clean out unwanted dust and particles.

How to Replace an AirConditioner Filter on a 2002 ToyotaAvalon

The air conditioner filter onthe 2002 Toyota Avalon is more commonly referred to as the cabin air filter. The filter does more than just regulate the flow of air: It also filters outpollen, dust, exhaust fumes and air pollution. Because it directly affects thelevel and quality of air coming into the passenger cab through the interior airvents, it can compromise the performance of the air conditioning, as well asthat of the heating system, if not changed at regular intervals.

1. Openthe Avalon's passenger's side door. 2. Open the glove box and removeits contents. 3. Locate the stop screw on the right side ofthe glove box, and remove it with the Phillips-head screwdriver while bracingthe bottom of the glove box. 4. Gently swing the glove box downward andlet it hang upside-down towards the passenger's side floorboard. 5. Locate the white filter frame, now visiblefrom behind the original glove box's position. 6. Push the tabs at each end of the filterframe inward to unlock it, then pull the tray and filter assembly out of thecabin air filter housing. 7. Remove the oldfilter from the tray, then install the new one, making sure to tuck the ends ofthe replacement filter under the tabs on the left and right sides of the tray. 8. Reinsert the trayand filter assembly into the filter housing; push it until the tabsautomatically lock the door of the tray into place. 9. Reassemble theglove box by lifting it up, replacing the stop screw and then returning itscontents before closing it.

What is the toyota number for the cabin air

The cabin air filter is actually pretty easy to change. Here are the steps:
  1. Set the air conditioning system to Recirculation. The case for the cabin air cannot be removed with the system in the Outside Air mode.
  2. Turn the engine off.
  3. Open the Glove Compartment
  4. unclip the damper rod on the ride side of the glove compartment. To unclip it usually it is just a squeeze tab but sometimes it is a phillips head screwdriver.
  5. The glove compartment now must be squeezed together at the rear to allow the tabs to be released. Just let the glove compartment hang down.
  6. Through the glove compartment opening, locate the filter cover and remove.
  7. Remove dirty filter and replace with the new and reverse steps 1-5 to put it back together.
Shouldnt take to long usually takes me about 5 minutes to change it.

As for the toyota cabin air number im not to sure on that but you can go to any parts store and pick up an aftermarket cabin air which will save you a bit of money, same quality..

Air conditioning system musty smell when used

There should be a cabin filter. Call the parts store to see if they stock one for your car in particular.

Cabin filters are located in stream of the outside air flowing in. I know on a '99 Galant, you just had to take out the glove box, loosen two screws, and out she slid.

It'll be right near the blower motor, above the passenger's foot rest, behind the glove box. Simple hand tools will do it.

Be careful when pulling it out, as it may have leaves and acorns or fur all over it. Simply slide in the new filter and you're done.

You'll be surprised at how much better it'll smell, and how much harder your A/C and heat will blow without the constriction of a dirty filter.

Most cars have the cabin filters behind the glove box, but if not there, then they'll have them under the hood, on the firewall, on the passenger side. Usually inside a small black plastic box.

If your car DOESN"T have a cabin filter, then the musty smell is stuff that is sitting in the heat/ AC system. You can try spraying pine sol or Febreeze down the air intake hole for the system. Mind you, this is not the same as the air intake for your cars engine!

The air intake for the cabin filter will be on the passenger side, under the hood, most likely under a plastic cowling of sorts.

Good luck!
