Check with your local auto parts store. They actually make a pulley that bolts up in place of your A/C compressor. Im not sure where you live but I was able to locate one online at Murrays/O'Reillys auto stores. You would then use the same serpentine belt as before. It costs $15-$20.

Look up Dorman Products..they may make a kit to "bypass" the compressor.

On some cars yes, others no. Go and talk to an auto parts store and they should be able to help you. Now, on cars that aren't able to do that too, you can still sort of bypass it. I have gone to a machine shop with the compresser and told them my problem. I had them make a plate that will bolt in the factory compresser position. Then they put a regular pully on and there ya go. Might, MIGHT, be possible to take old compressor apart so you can remove the clutch and then put compressor back in and pulley will turn. But that is a might big MIGHT.

My serpentine belt broke on my chrysler 300 yr 2005 eng 3.5 i was told air compresser seized is there any way i can fix it without replacing compresser

You might be able to use a shorter belt and not go around compressor pulley. Use a length of string to get a rough idea of what belt you need.

Help!! Broke a belt on our Jeep Cherokee 4wd 2000. Air cond clutch froze in place need to by pass, what belt do,or can I use

if the ac compressor won't turn even with the engine off,it's not the compressor but the freewheel bearing inside the pulley,
even if the compressor is bad ,changing the bearing will allow the serp belt to turn the pulley.
I'd just change the bearing .

Air conditioner compressor locked up and broke Serpintine belt. How can I reroute a belt to avoid the compressor? Will I need to remove the compressor?

Hi Friend:

To avoid the Expense of Replacement of A/C Compressor, DOORMAN Company Has a By-PASS PULLEY that you can Use To eliminate the Compressor Completely.

Just call some of your Local Auto Parts Stores and Be sure to Tell them that =DOORMAN is the Co. That makes this By Pass Pulley.

I'm Sure you'll find it.

03 suburban ac problem

Put a new belt on it and spray the condenser coil in front of the radiator with a hose when it gets up to temp or the sound starts and see if it stops. Thats what I did today. Flapping/clacking stops for about 10 minutes until thing get hot again.A/C blowing cold air the entire time.

Air Condition

it sounds like a loose compression compressor.

if the compressor is loose compression, normally it sounds noisy. then suction pressure is above normal and if you accelerate and maintains that high speed, let say 2000 rpm, the suction pressure goes down to the normal level and cools your air conditioning .
