Which vacuum line in Toyota's 2UZ-FE V8 for SeaFoam?

There is an Air box under the hood near the front of the engine compartment right behind the headlight housing. But I wouldn't use that if you want to seafoam the engine. You would have to bypass the mass airflow sensor in order not to damage it. Your best bet is to disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose line and administer the seafoam through that.

find the hose for the pcv valve and use it as it serves all cylinders.

Before spending lots of money on a repair try this. Purchase a can of Seafoam Motor Treatment at most auto and marine parts stores. Add 1.5 ounces of Seafoam to the crankcase for each quart of oil the engine holds. Drive your truck 50 miles and then change the oil/filter. Repeat the procedure and then drive the truck and check the oil regularly looking for it to get very dirty. When it gets dirty change the oil/filter again and add another treatment of Seafoam. After 3 treatments you should not hear the lifter noise any longer if it was caused by carbon or varnish buildup which the Seafoam will remove. If you still hear lifter noise then this is caused by wear or something that the Seafoam cannot remove.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

On all engines except the 2UZ-FE, the starter is external, mounted in a conventional manner, alongside the engine block. One the 2UZ-FE, however, the starter is mounted in the 'V' of the engine, between the cylinder head banks. The entire intake manifold assembly must be removed to access the starter motor and solenoid. (Toyota calls the solenoid a "magnetic switch.")

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the nut and disconnect the battery cable from the magnetic switch on the starter motor.
3. Detach the remaining electrical connections at the starter.
4. Remove the nuts and/or bolts securing the starter to the bell housing, and then pull the starter toward the front of the vehicle to remove.

To install:

1. Insert the starter into the bell housing being sure that the starter drive teeth are engaged with the flywheel teeth, NOT jammed against the flywheel.
2. Tighten the attaching hardware to 29 ft. lbs. (39 Nm) and replace all electrical connections.

1. Connect the positive battery cable (starter wire) to the starter.
2. Connect the negative battery cable.

try changing the fuel filter, and adding a can of SEAFOAM to the tank. EGS(ethanol gas syndrome) is the biggest problem for this. the injectors fuel filters fuel lines, and emissions are full of goop and water. This happens because of the corn in the gas. Try that first. Make sure you add some Premium gas to the tank at the start. after this, add SF every 3-5000 miles to keep this from happemning again. SEAFOAM is at any parts store.

Ethanol gas syndrome/ buy a can of SEAFOAM(parts store). change out the fuel filter. add SEAFOAM to full tank of PREMIUM gas. let it idle(even if you have to make it by acceleration in park)/ drive 10 miles, replace fuel filter again at 500 miles. add can of SEAFOAM every 3-5000 miles, and it will clean fuel,emission, and engine valves.<p>
ethanol produces a goop(like choc milk) and creates water in the system/ It causes carbon build up and even affects injectors. If you will try this, it will help prevent costly repairs/ cost 8-9 dollars for the SF. whole lot cheaper than an engine job. good luck.

I can not believe the problems I've seen because of the ethanol in gasoline. First, change out the fuel filter. Brown goop will be in it. Ethanol turns the fuel to syrup. Next, find a garage with a fuel system cleaner for your system. After that, add a can of Seafoam to your fuel. Run a tank of premium through it. At 500 miles, change the fuel filter again. Then every 3000 miles add a can of Seafoam in your tank. This will keep the lines clean, keep out the water, and with winter close by, it will stop fuel line freeze up. Good Luck.
