When stop at a traficlights my jaguar xj8 3,2 2001 modle shake a little and the engin manegement light come on please can you help me with some advise what could cause this thanks

your vehicles computer has found a fault engine light doesnt go away by turning car on and off need to go get code read most auto stores offer this for free the code will give you a starting point towards fixing your problem

more info please. year? mileage ? engine light on? sounds like you may have a misfire. this can be caused by a few different things like tune up items, however, those kitty cats are finicky about fuel. that sticker in the fuel door says premium unleaded only and they mean it. we see fuel injectors clogged up which causes them to continuously drip. try some injector cleaner and a heavy dose too. mfg recommends techron brand.

run the fault codes
check for vacuum leaks on all vacuum hoses
check fuel pressure
use quality injector cleaner

When was the last time a full tune up have been done? A bad intake gasket would do that.

you need a tune up to start with
your RPM's may be tooo low at idle
your choke may be stuck

Hard to diagnose your problem from my laptop but if it shakes in the morning I would asume a cylinder or two are misfiring. I would pull the plugs out and see what the engine is doing. Not an easy task as the manifolds have to come off to get three of the plugs out. Also do you have the check engine light on? If so the codes will tell you what, if any, cylinders are misfiring. Possible lazy coil packs ( one for each plug ), worn out plugs, etc.

Bring it in so that the check engine light will be off and it will run smoother.
