My 2002 accent will go in drive but not reverse

Here's an illustration: Disconnect negative battery cable. remove radiator fan (next to alternator). Loosen upper alternator tension bolts & tilt/move toward engine to give slack to the drive belt. Remove drive belt & then remove lower alt mounting bolt & top tension/mounting bracket bolt. Disconnect alternator wiring/connections. Lift alternator out. Assembly is in reverse order of removal.

Sounds like the trans is due to be rebuilt

have you done a tranni filter and tranni oil changed?( DO NOT have a flush done!)

Hi , I have a 2002 Hundai Accent and I am have problems with the transmission can you help? Ok so to start out from a start it shift high RPM from 1st to 2nd and to top it off it doesn't go into reverse at all . I was playing around and found a buzzing noise then just the IGN is on and I put it into drive and doesn't go away till I put it back in park what do you think it is ?

sorry but i had to say the reverse bands have gone bad in your tranny soon other thing will malfuntion in you tranny.now rare case you could have a dirty valve body this is worth a try change you fluid and filter clean valve body.you will see it when ou dropthe tranny oil pan

yes you have an engine misfire, probably a bad spark plug or plug wire, maybe a coil issue, do not continue to drive it or you will do severe damage to the catylitic converter

P0734 - 4th gear incorrect ratio. P1529 Malfunction Indicator Lamp Request. Problem is in the transmission.
Take/Tow your vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership and pay the diagnostic fee... they will tell you exactly what the problem is and the cost of parts/labor to fix it... at least this way you'll know what the problem is and what's required to fix it.

dear friend-if you have forward gears it means that the reverse drum is faulty.if not it means that or the torque coverter or pump is stripped,eitherway the gearbox must come out.

? you want to change the rotor? the rotors are on the front of the car and they dont have "shoes" they have pads. and a little tap or some heat would get the bolts off. or soak bolts in WD-40 for 10 mins.
