1997 DODGE CARAVAN DIES while driving about once a day. service engine lite come on. 3.3 liter, 110K, It tends to happen after driving for ten to 15 minutes. This happens while driving, accelerating, etc. not while stopped at a stop light.

My van cuts off after driving on a long stretch of highway. Around town it does pretty good. It starts back up after ten or fifteen mins. I changed the oil, oil filter, coil pack new spark plugs, and fuel fliter. It still does it. Does any one know what this could be???? O its a 2001 dodge caravan

this is what your check engine light was telling you. code 12 battery input was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles. code 54 no camshaft signal detected during engine cranking. code 55 completion of fault code display on check engine lite. hope this will help you!! note: camshaft sensor is located in distributor on 3.0liter engine and on a 3.3liter and 3.8 liter engines its located next to the thermostat housing.
It needs a thermostat and a coolant flush, in the worst case scenario a head gasket may be blown or leaking, have your mechanic do a coolant flush,thermostat, and leak check.
