Oxygen sensors are identified by bank and sensor position. Sensor 1 is always pre catalytic converter, sensor two is always post catalytic converter. If an engine is a 4 or 6 cylinder engine the whole engine is considered bank 1, if an engine is a V6, V8, V10....., the engine bank containing cylinder number 1 (first cylinder in the firing order) is considered Bank 1, the other bank is considered Bank 2. you can apply pressure to the sensor while undoing it to force it out or you will have to cut out the thread area and get an O2 sensor bung hole replacement at an auto supply store and weld into place and install a new O2 sensor. bank 1 sensor 1 is located in the front pipe off the manifold that has cylinder #1 on and bank 2 sensor 1 is on the side that cylinder #2 is on like sensor 1. sensor 3 is the one just before the cat.

BANK 1 UP STREAM OXYGEN SENSOR LOCATION IS LOCATED ON THE REAR EXHAUST MANIFOLD.

Well upstream from the Catalatic Converter means towards the engine and that would be the location for Sensor #1 on both sides of the engine. And Downstream would be away from the engine past the Catalatic Converter For Sensor #2 on both sides of the engine. Bank 1 or Bank 2 would indicate which side of the engine the trouble is on. ( Bank #1 is the side of the engine that contains #1 Cylinder. Please remember if you are going to change one 02 Sensor then you should change all of them and be sure to clear all codes after all repairs are finished. that will turn the check engine light off. Bank 2 sensor 1

Bank 2 sensor 2

Some manufacturers use a kind of shorthand that reads different, but means the same thing:
Sensor 1/1 or O2s 1/1
Sensor 2/1 or O2s 2/1
Sensor 1/2 or O2s 1/2
Sensor 2/2 or O2s 2/2

Bank 1 is always the side of the engine where cylinder number 1 is located and, of coarse, Bank 2 is the opposite side.
On a 4 cylinder engine, there is only 1 bank and it is always referred to as Bank 1.

Sensor 1 is always the upstream sensor (the one located BEFORE the catalytic converter)
Sensor 2 is always the downstream sensor (the one that is located AFTER the catalytic converter.

bank 1 on a chevy is on the drivers side youll have 4 O2 sensors sensor 1 bank 1 is on the engine side of the cat converter sensor 2 bank 1 is after the cat converter (drivers side )

So, the answer to your question would be that you are looking for the sensor located before the catalytic converter on the right (or Passenger Side) of the truck.
