Looking for the fuel pump relay switch
2000 Mustang now running after reading several post, and thanks to all.
1) Downloaded instructions and reset the key.
2) Inserted starter fuid into card intake and engine fired..so getting spark.
3) Attempted reset of fuel pump cut off switch, and it did not need resetting.
4) Later, checked voltage in fuel pump cut off switch. Now here is what I think happened. I had difficulity holding light and attemptinng to get the probe into the short wiring to the connector. The first check did not show voltage as near as I can tell. Then I presume I touched the wires together briefly, as the computer gave some dings. In any event, reinserted the wiring plug back into the cut
off switch, and the auto started!!! Now, either the wiring on the cutoff switch lost connectivity or I jolted the CCRM connection into functioning for now. Essense, as stated above, check to make sure the fuel pump is getting 12 volts through all means available.
The fuel system reset is located in the trunk on the drivers side just forward of the tail light behind the trunk liner.
You can go to this website and down load a manual for your car to get the fuse information. It starts on page 159, I was unable to copy the manual to the FixYa site.
