My 2001 Honda Odyssey D4 light is flashing, CEL and TCS lights are on. The code is P0715 which means Turbine speed sensor circuit failure. Is this a tranny failure or just a speed sensor problem?

i'd say a break in the wiring somewhere

If the TCS light is on and the D4 light is blinking, this indicates that there is a transmission control problem. You must scan your onboard computer network fo fault codes to begin diagnosis.

TCS = Traction Control System

The TCS light is on because the check engine light is on this is common repair the check engine light failure abd the tcs will go back to normal.

You need to check the code to see if it is a trans code and then if it falls under the bulletin limits Honda will replace the trans under warranty. Even if you are out of warranty Honda will sometimes do a partial warranty. Here's a copy of the Bulletin.

There are several things that will turn the check engine light and tcs light on .if you get the code I can tell you exactly what the problem is . on your year i see transmission problems as well as egr problems. if you go to any large auto parts store they will check the code for free or a very small fee.

Normally this problem is caused by a wheel speed sensor.Every wheel has a sensor to detect the mph of each wheel. the vehicle notices any major difference in wheel speed and makes the tcs light flash at you or stay on all the time.This is how the vehicle knows if your spinning or losing control of your vehicle.Have your mechanic verify that all the wheel speed sensors are working properly and have him check for diagnostic trouble codes in the computer. It seems that you may have a problem with your sensor on or in your transmission.

P1529 and P0720 does not seem to be understood.

P0715 means Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction.

P0118 means Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input.
