For a X reg (2000) Jaguar S- type: to remove the rear left winder mechanism do the following... Remove the door panel: remove two Philips Screws from under the small rubber mat in the door pull recess. Starting at top outer edge lever the panel away from door using something that does not damage the paint (I used a flat wooden spatula) - you will hear the poppers as they release the panel; work down and around the panel using your fingers. At some point the bezel around the door opening handle will become loosened and you need to carefully remove it - I found this awkward. Lift the panel upwards off the door and remove the cable that goes to the switches. Next remove the large access cover made of soft material stuck on with body putty and the circular sticky plastic disc covering a hole in the lower centre of the door. Remove the loudspeaker - four bolts into door metal and a cable. Remove the trim strip from the bottom edge of the window opening. Assuming the window can be moved slide it so the securing peg can be seen through the small hole uncovered when you removed the sticky plastic disk. It appears as two concentric circles of plastic, outside diameter about 1cm, with a hole through the middle. Knock out the middle peg with a punch of about 4mm dia. This will disappear into the door and will be needed later! Once the inner peg is removed the split outer peg can be pushed through releasing the window from the regulator mechanism. Pull the window all the way up and secure with duct tape to the side of the frame so it doesn't crash down. Remove three nuts securing the mechanism push it in to the door void and remove the electric plug. I did this through the speaker apperture and found it awkward to get out - patience is needed if yours is as difficult. Manoeuver the mechanism out through the access hole and survey the damage.

How do I replace the passenger window on a BA falcon ute

Pull your door trim off, they are mostly clips but there are screws holding the arrest and door handler, the window winder has a half-moon clip at the base which is a bit of a struggle to release without the correct tool (angle point nose long nose pliers worked for me a long time ago) remove the glad wrap plastic dust cover and any remaining broken glass from the rail, put the win wiper down about half way. Slide the new glass in from the cab side and position it into the rail and wind it down all the way, now position the new glass into the door guide slots and carefully wind the window up and reposition the glass while winding it up and down making sure there is no resistance and when your happy put the door back together. (ripped the plastic/gladwrap dust cover up didn't you, that black chewing gum is a *itch eh?).

How to reset electric windows on 2003 model prado after battery been disconected

Most vehicle only need the windows rolled through a cycle. On each window wind the glass all the way down. Keep the button pressed for two or three seconds extra after it is all the way down. Wind the window all the way up and again hold the button for two or three seconds extra. Do this on each door 'then' the multi switch on the driver's door.

How do I fix a passenger car window to a 2004 Kia optima that's off the rails

Hi,
You'll need to take off the door card
& undo the screws or bolts which hold the rear window rail/guide in place at the bottom.
Then, wind the window down, whilst supporting the glass from underneath.
Once it's low enough, you should be able to re-align the glass into the two rails/guides.
Wind the window back up, taking care not to let it jump out of the guides.
Secure the screws or bolts which hold the guides in place, before testing the operation of the window.
Once you're happy with the job, reassemble the door card.

It is important that you discover why the window came out of the guide in the first place, or it may well do it again.?
Check the stability & security of all the guides, screws or bolts & drive or winder operation, whilst the door card is off.

Best of luck

How you adjust the window tack, so the window goes up evenly

remove the door trim to get to in side the door. One of the glass tracks will have an adjustment on the lower mount where you can move the track in or out depending what you want. Normally wind the window right down and adjust the track tight against the glass( make sure the glass is in straight). wind the glass up and down a few times to ensure that there are no tight spots Some spray silicon in the tracks helps with the movement of the glass.

Heard a loud snap rear window fell down, looks like rain, the window motor still works how do we get the door panel off.

GM rear window regulators have a cable which breaks causing this problem. get yourself a new regulator at a parts store and have a glass shop install it for you.

Heard loud bang and now the front driver side door window does not roll up. I can hear the motor working, but the window still does not roll up. One week later the exact same thing happened to the front...

Possible that the mechanism has jumped off the linkage . You will need to remove the flap and get access to the window winding mechanism. You will be able to notice the main motor mechanism which has either jumped off - as you heard the sound- or there is a gear that has come off the motor drive.
A resetting of the winder to keep the motor drive coupled to the window winding mechanism should solve. Also make sure that the glass channels are clear and free , not giving friction to the mechanism to jump off.

My rear window on 93 topaz is stuck in down position is there a way i can raise it?

If the window motor still runs (assuming that they're power windows) press the button like you're winding up the window and have someone else pull the window up by pressing havnig one hand on one side of the glass and the other hand on the other side with the door open.

The nearside front window is stuck down and will not wind back up

Not sure if its power windows or manual windows, you said wind so its gotta be manual, remove the door panel and make sure nothing fell apart and jammed the track, if nothing is found then the track may be broken,
Not finding what you are looking for?
