How do you change a heater hose on a 06 suzuki

My car just overheated yesterday afternoon. Their are no leeks in the upper lower radiator hoses. I started the car up to see where the leak is coming from. I see that its water is coming out from up under the car and dripping onto a steel pan. Can you tell me where the leak or what hose or hoses its coming from. Can I repair it myself or do I need to take it to a mechanic?

SOURCE: smell under the hood...like a burning smell..temperature light

You are having a problem with the alternator or the serpintine belt that powers the alternator, a/c, water pump and power steering. The belt is either not properly tensioned or the alternator, or water pump is siezing up which would explain the loss of water and the battery light. Likely the water pump might be bad since you are losing some water.

The belt powers all of the systems you mentioned so I would find the belt on the passenger side of the car and go from there. It is pretty well in there and hard as hell to reach so you will likely need to take it to someone with a lift and some good tools. The good news is that this is drivable so you should be able to get it addressed before the belt completly snaps from whatever system is being broken and melts onto something making the problem even worse.

SOURCE: 96 suzuki vitara - radiator empties but no visible leak

Check the passanger side floor board for moisture this could indicate a bad heater core. Then I would check the engine oil and make sure its not milky looking (head gasket). make sure when you fill it let it run with the cap open with you looking into the cap to be sure is circulating and not vapor locked (air pocket)
hope this helps

SOURCE: replaced upper radiator hose and

You have replaced the upper rad hose. Was this done because of a leak? Was it replaced because overheating was occuring? If overheating is a problem you may have to look at some other things.1 Cooling fan 2 Thermostat 3 Head gasket

SOURCE: where is the water pump on 97 outback ?

The water pump is usually located at the front of the vehicle and is driven by a belt. Most water pumps have a "weep hole" on them. This is a small hole on the casing of the water pump. If you see any liquid coming out of the weep hole, then the water pump is bad and will need to be replaced. I assume that you have already checked and replaced the thermostat if needed.

Engine was overheating need to know if a tube is supposed to go from the radiator to the engine coolant

you should have one upper radiator hose, one lower radiator hose, a small diameter hose that runs over the top of your radiator starting from the radiator cap going left across the top and then to your coolant reservoir and another from your thermostat housing to the firewall for the heater core the upper radiator hose should also go to your thermostat housing. the lower radiator hose goes to your water pump This hose routing is only for a 4 liter straight 6 I'm not sure about the V8 or the 2.5 liter motors

Its leeking water out of a hose and cant see what the hoese goes to

is it water or coolant? aside from the upper and lower radiator hoses the only other hose carrying coolant is the hearter hose that goes to the heater core.inside the firewall. if it is leaking at the heater core. or the core itself is leaking this is a major job. as the heater core must be removed and tested.

Heating problem

If you changed the thermostat yourself and have noted that the lower radiator hose is cooler than the upper radiator hose, you may have installed the thermostat incorrectly or have purchased a faulty thermostat. A lower radiator hose that does not get hot (or as hot as the upper radiator hose) is a direct indication of a faulty thermostat. Please vote for this solution if you found this to be helpful.
