    I have been reading other posts online saying I need to remove the oil sending unit and the oil filter, is this true?

Support the car very securely first of all

Remove the negative cable from the battery

Remove the wires from the starter

Remove the two bolts from the starter going upward to the engine block

Wiggle the starter out

Reverse this proceedure to reinstall

How do you remove starter?

disconnect neg batt cable. as required remove nuts from a/c compressor and eng brace, adjacent to starter, if neessary. remove nut from eng cross brace. using a pry bar between upper eng mount and eng pry rerward and support eng.if nessary remove oil filter, air induction tube and cooling fan. Disconnect wiring at starter, and (note!!!!)position. good luck
