2006 Lincoln zephyr driver side door wont latch shut

Latch sequence in fixture is in closed position. This means the roundish shaped tab is down and blocking the door latch from entering the door.

If you look at the opposite door you will see that the latch resembles a slot for the post on the door sill to slide into when the door is closed. Your problem door will have that slot closed off by the latch.

Sometimes child safety lock-outs may be 1/2 way engaged and it gets the mechanism out of time. Or the spring which operates the latch breaks and the latch will not retract.

Make sure that the latch is doing what you want before you close the door, or you may be writing about what to do if the door won't open.

That means the actuator is stripped inside and will have to be replaced. While replacing, make sure latch mechanism is free and not jamming.

Could be a problem with the latch.

There is a metal rod that connects the inside handle to the latch mechanism. You will need to take off the inside door panel to see if the rod is bent/broken or has detached from either the handle or the latch,

if one side works, its not going to be a fuse, whoever installed it needs to recheck it if that is possible,, On those bulbs its very important not to touch the actual bulb, as the oil in the body will cause them to over heat and burn out faster . If you can't have the installer check the bulb again,, remove the retaining ring that holds them in place,, remove the bulb , and check it with a meter , check any wiring that leads to the socket to be sure its plugged in completely

Sounds like the glass has become disconnected from the regulator. There are a few different styles. Best bet get to a glass shop which does auto, they can disassemble the door and will have the proper stuff in stock to fix it.

Remove fuses 10 and 11 in the underhood junction box. Leave out for 5 minutes then reinstall. If the seats start working your Zephyrs dual climate control seat module will need replaced.

on the drivers door decal look for int trim it should be a 2 letter code
