This light is on because the system is cycling the ac compressor to often, this means the system is low on charge, this means u have a leak, the leak is either the compressor front seal or the ac condensor core, both of which many times pass leak tests.
Testimonial: "Your suggestions are helpful but how do I check for leak on the compressor if no pressure leak is found with testing?"
I have been doing ac work for 35 years and if i had a saw buck for every system that had a leaking compressor front saft seal that passed a leak test I would be able to retire, have done 100's same goes for condensor leaks
Thanks , This was helpful. How much should it cost to replace the seal on the compressor? Are you near Pasdena?
Don't waste your time with the seal, just replace the compressor with a rebuilt unit.
I am in the San Fran bay area near Martinez. U are 475 miles away, used to live in Riverside worked in Mira Loma, horriable smog back then in 1969, was in the USAF

Sound like it does if they put in some dye last year when the check it, they might be able to fine the leak, good luck.

Why would it pask the leak test if the front seal was leaking on the compressor? Should I replace FREON one more time if no leaks are found? Thanks for your suggestions and help.
