I have a 1995 silverado after start up , it idels high, engine light comes on, putting it in gear, it jerks, but if I put in back in park while still idel high and tap gas it will go down to normal, then the engine light will go off, it goes in gear and shifts normal, whats the problem, please help

The air flow sensor will cause the engine to act the way you describe.

This car has an automatically controlled idle speed system, so when you have a problem like this you must have the dealer run what is called an active engine running test, the test puts the engine through the paces and returns data to show possible problems.

94 wrangler dies in gear

You don't need a scanner. If you cycle the key off and on 5 times, the codes will start flashing. Here is a link to jeeps and their trouble codes. There aren't that many in the older OBD-1 systems.

If you have no trouble codes, check fuel pressure. Multiport injection is high pressure, above 40psi, but Jeep would have specs.

Sounds like you have another Vacum Leak, What is this thing idleing speed AT...?????? Vacum Leak Cause high Fast Idel...so i would check futher into more leaks

1995 lesabre keeps jerking when i put it into gears.

There has been a rash of 60% Ethanol gas in my area lately which has caused the same problems. Gas should only contain 10% Ethanol max. You may want to run it out of gas or drain the tank. May also be a dirty fuel filter.

I have a 2003 nissan altima and in park it idels high and then it slowly comes down and then it jerks and it has no acceleiration at all and i just put a new motor in it and the motor works fine

either the throttle position sensor is shot, bad 02 sensors or leaky vacuum line

Wont idel when warmed up

seems to me there may be a problem with the transmission, because you say it runs fine in neutral and dies when you put it in gear!!!
only logical thing if everything else you mentioned has been ruled out!!!

Vibrations in truck when ideling and when accelerating

That might be a problem with motor mounts. Raise the hood,start truck and while holding the brake put in gear and slowly press accelerator. A bad motor mount will allow the engine to twist in place. Don't forget to check the transmission mounts also.

Safety switch in transmission ?

Your Gear Position Sensor is failing. It's common on these models for this part to fail. It's common for the check engine light to also come on and store a code for this sensor.

May be throttle position sensor. The engine light comes on because of afault signal from one of the sensors. Going out is temporary. After 3 events, the ligh will come on again. It needs to be scanned to find the problem sensor. more than likely the TPS. Good luck
