2002 Chevy Malibu 6 cyl - hesitates and sputters, lags on hills

My wonderful Chevy 2002 Malibu 6 cyl has been spurting (hesitating) and whistling (when I accelerate) for several weeks. I've been trying to get it diagnosed so that possibly my son can replace whatever is wrong with it.At 20 mph it runs ok for a few minutes, and then after that at 30 mph it really hesitates, and sputters, won't get up and go, sort of jerky. On the highway at when it finally makes it to 60 or more it runs ok until I go up a hill and then it immediately goes to 50 mph and that is is fast as it will go, with medal to the pedal. We changed thes sparks plugs, put new spark plug wires on it, cleaned the Mass air flow sensor, put a clean air filter and changed the oil.Someone put it on a diagnostic machine and came up with these codes. 300 - 404 -207 - 500 - 600Any ideas. Can't take it to a shop, no cash, lost job. Thanks

Not going to even try to give you an answer on that one. I do recommend you get a chilton (not haynes) manual and go over the codes. You will also need a decent multi-meter to use for testing. To guess, you may have a partial short or bad connection at the computer causing cylinder mis-fire. But, careful testing is the only way to actually determine that or anything else...Book and meter are less expensive than any wrong part you can buy on a "guess".

2002 jetta 4 cyl runs very rough, and firing order seems to be misfiring? engine is not overheating, although once warmed up it lags while excellerating. Noticed that it appears that sparking or arking...

Check timing of the engine is right using an engine timing light. Make sure the timing belt or chain isn't worn or slack. The head gasket could also have gone and may need replacing.

2002 Chevy silverado, at speeds of 60+ mph, it feels like the transmission slips or it sputters(hesitates), but only at high speeds

Are you certain that it is the transmission and not the engine misfiring? I would recommend scanning your onboard computer network to BEGIN proper diagnosis.

The engine hesition sometime 04 expedition 5.4

Most likely you have a bad COP (Coil On Plug) .
Maybe more than one. Very common ford problem for last 12 years.
If you get a MIL Light on the dash (the wrench),check for a PO300 Code.
A PO304 would be coil #4,PO306 #6 Etc.
Cyl 1 thru 4 on pass side
Cyl 5 thru 8 on driver side, front to back

Also hills cause a hi engine vacuum and thus a possible EGR Valve going bad. You can unplug the vacuum lines and plug, to diagnose that issue.

Also leave the EGR disconnected if your working on coil issues. Just note the MIL light will stay on all the time, and remember to check your 300 codes if you feel a hesitaton or miss.

2001 econoline 150 hesitates and sputters, knocks when driving. misfire on #2,#4 what causes this

This sounds like the coil for cylinders 2 & 4 is bad -- I'm assuming there is a coil pack which would have 3 coils for a 6 cyl engine and 4 coils for an 8-cyl dngine. Could be a bad electrical connection(s) to this coil as well.

Car backfires hesitates when depressing gas pedal

Check the vacum lines going to the distributor and transmission. If they are leaking it could be your problem.
