Purchase 1 more can and allow it enough time to fully get into the system. You can have the car running while this is happening so it warms the can allowing it to charge faster. Let me know.

thank u i was hoping it could b a simple fix n i have recharged another vehicle b4 n used the bigger can but auto zone only had the smaller ones i will try one more smaller can n hope for the best! but my friend tried explaining to me that if the system isnt fully recharged then there isnt enough pressure or something like that to get the pump to turn on! im quite mechanically inclined for a girl but this car is new to me! thanks 4 the advise i think its worth a shot! thank u:)

Bad advice! The car MUST be running to properly charge an ac system. It is not optional, and “warming the can” will not help it go in faster. The can is over 100 psi so it will go in just fine. You cannot simply tell a person to “add another can,” as it is vitally important to not overcharge a system. For DIY recharging, buy a gauge, or a can with a gauge. It also helps to put a thermometer with a probe into an ac vent in your car to monitor the change in temp as you add refrigerant.

AC fan blows warm air

Long list so here goes: fuse for the A/C is separate from the blower fan, check it. Next with the A/C turned on check to make sure the whole pulley/face of the A/C pump is spinning. Third, be sure that when you switch from warm to cold something is moving in the dash. On this year it may be audible. Try with the fan off then try with it on. After all this it may just need a recharge of the A/C fluid.

Ac only cools when accelerator is pressed. when sitting in idle traffic, only blows warm air. had ac recharged, doesn't help.

I have same issue. I took to Chevy dealer they could not find problem (whats new) then I took to trusted mechanic.
They measured voltage at compressor and found out when idle the voltage dips below manufacturer specs, then when RPMS go up it gets more juice so the compressor then starts to work properly.
Chevy claims its made that way to extend compressor life.

Defroster and heater blow cold air when idling and warm, not hot, when driving. ac does not blow as cold as it should. Temperature, not air volume is the issue.

Check your radiator fluid level. This almost always the case. AC system needs to be recharged. You can get a can of recharge at local autparts store for 25$ approximatley that comes with the gauge. Charge the system while the vehicle is running and ac is on.

A/c isnt blowing cold air

First try to get the ac recharged it may be low. Second try the gasket around the ac pump, they go bad easily and will case the ac to blow hot air.

The ac only blows warm air, have recharged it with freon but it only cools minutes before blowing warm again, could find no leaks

There are special cans of R-134A with dye in them for detecting leaks. Most leaks occur around the fittings near the compressor. Recharge the system with the leak detector can or R-134A. There are also cans of R-134A with an additive to stop leaks. I would use these products to either detect your leak or to stop it. Best of luck.
