Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator from the engine. (the plastic thing in the middle) the coils sit right on top of the plugs. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors, then remove the bolt and pull out the coil. the sparkplug is at the bottom of the hole :) remember to torque the bolt back down to 89 in-lb (10 Nm) and use alittle dielectric grease on the end of the boot. and finally dont forget the anti-sieze compound on the threads of the new sparkplugs before installing :)

2002 chevy trailblazer check engine light went on, took it to autozone they said it was a misfire in cylinder number 3, and that I needed to replace sparkplugs and wires. could this be the problem?"

Yes it could but without further diagnosis it's difficult to be sure. Manufacturers suggest platunum spark plugs be replaced after 100,000 miles. If your close to this it would be a good idea to change them anyway. While spark plug wires can fail they don't normally wear out like spark plugs. They can very easily be checked with an ohm meter. I wouldn't replace them unless I found a problem with one or more of them.

Where do i find spark plugs and wires on chevolet trailblazer 2002

The spark plugs are located normally near the value cover where you put in the oil. The wires run from the spark plugs. If your vehicle is a 4 cylinder then there will be 4 spark plugs. If it's a 6 cylinder there will be 6 spark plugs.

Location of spark plugs

carmen.... locate the coil pack.... it has 6 wires going into the top of it. follow each of the six wires from there... they end at the spark plugs. if that motor is mounted sideways... which i doubt as i believe that is a rear wheel drive truck it should be pretty straight forward.
