Hi, I'm planning on buying a 1990 ls400 with 200k on it

Hi, I'm planning on buying a 1990 ls400. But I don't know if I should . I have no car right now, so I need something that will last. This will be my first car. I haven't looked at the car yet. But my boyfriend has gone over there and test drove it, because I was busy at work. He says it drives good, the engine purrs. The only problem is the brakes will need changing and the left front signal. This car has over 200k miles on it. Im notsure how much precisely. I'm in desperate need for a car. I need to get around. They're asking 1800. But they're gonna work out a deal and make it 1000. Is this too much? A 1990 with that many miles on it? I've been doing research and this car is said to last a good while. But I just want to make sure before anything. So please, someone tell me if I'm gonna make a bad deal.

Hello. Any car with 200K has reached it's life expectancy. I would not recommend this car as Lexus parts are often very pricey. Some head light lamps, for instance are $400.00 alone. Joe

1990 Honda prelude is not getting fuel

If the starter is not turning over; i.e., clicking sound and not turning, you have a starting/high tension circuit problem. (Check the accessory belts too!) Forget about the fuel issue. Check your battery, to include the GROUND connection to the frame. Also, check your starter and its GROUND connection to the frame. Clean the ground connections with sand paper or a wire brush, if they are rusted/dirty. Have a friend with booster cables, attempt to jump your car to a start. If it starts, you are certain its the battery (buy new) or starter (just buy a rebuilt one or have it rebuilt by someone you trust... sometimes only a starter solenoid or diode (newer type) is required). If your high tension circuit is okay then it could be the fuel pump relay or simply just the FUSE. Check the fuse panel first and then unplug the relay and give it a visual inspection... if any terminal looks corroded or in doubt, replace it. Otherwise, its the fuel pump. Just get a new one and be done with it. Bosch Aftermarket should have a replacement fuel pump for your car. Avoid cheap parts, if you can as a fuel pump is a critical component. If you need a battery, A rebranded Yuasa is the OEM for most Asian cars like Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Toyota; however, Exide and DELCO make excellent batteries for most cars. Car batteries only last 4 years or so; so don't believe the sales hype. Question? Did you disconnect the fuel line and then crank it over when you stated there was no fuel coming out of the fuel line? If you plan on keeping the car, a good buy is the Haynes Repair manual for your car. You can buy it on-line.

Gas filter location

Fuel filters are typically located under the car. I don't know where on that model, but it is likely a metal cylinder right on the fuel line that leads out of the gas tank and along the underside of the car.

1990 f250 5.8lt computer codes not right the mechanic re set it shows wrong voltages and some gauges don,t reg correctly poor econ .and idle paul clyne

Most likely, its the voltage regulator which you should try replacing first. You could also have a short in the wiring somewhere. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be an easy fix or cheap if you don't do it yourself. If you can find melted/cracked/or broken wiring, then replace it. Look in the engine bay first. If you can't, then your best bet may be to buy a Haynes or Chilton manual and start checking voltages and wiring and figuring out where the voltage isn't right and track it back to the battery. Let me know what you find.
