Keyless Remote quit opening trunk release on 2005 Buick Lesabre

Keyless remote continues to open doors but no longer works for the trunk release.
The button on the drivers door for the trunk release also quit working at the same time the keyless remote quit working.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem and is there a simple solution?
I assume this problem may originate in the locking mechanism but would appreciate any direction provided to resolve this problem.

Thanks.

The relay is located in the rear fuse / relay center under the back seat . It will be marked on the inside of the lid (fuse box lid )

SOURCE: keyless remote works intermittently

replace the battery in your remote, or have it checked at autozone to make sure it's not just your remote.

SOURCE: what is the code for programing a keyless remote for a 99 buick lesabre custom?

it is not a code but a procedure, it is in the owners manual. here it is again, follow it exactly, this is from the factory service manual.

1. Insert key in ignition and leave in the OFF position
2. Locate the Data Link Port. It is located under dash drivers side. Be sure you know
which pins are 8 and 4.

(Note port is wider at top) Your OBDII port will not
have numbers, use the illustration for reference.

obd-1.jpg

3. Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 8 and 4. Connect 8 to 4 with a
suitable jumper wire (leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming
procedure). Make sure you know which terminals are 8 and 4. The vehicle will respond
by locking and unlocking the
doors to signify entering of programming mode.

4. Close doors.

5. Turn ignition to the ON position (as far as you can go without cranking the engine).
Doors will lock.
6. Press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons together on the first transmitter to
be programmed. After about 15 seconds, the vehicle will respond by locking and
unlocking the doors. Release the buttons on the transmitter.

7. Within one minute, repeat the previous step on the remaining transmitters to be
programmed.

8. Remove jumper wire applied to the OBDII Port.

How can I open my trunk on a 98 Buick Century that has no trunk release button in the car and no key to the trunk without busting the lock or taken out the back seat

Do you have keyless entry ?
The remote keyless entry system performs the following functions:
• Locking the vehicle doors
• Unlocking the vehicle doors
• Opening the rear compartment lid

Rear Compartment Lid Release Circuit Description
The BCM receives a signal via Class II from the PCM indicating the position of the transaxle range switch. When you press the release button on the RKE transmitter, a signal is sent from the remote control door lock receiver through circuit 377 to the BCM. Then, the BCM sends a ground signal through circuit 253 to the rear compartment lid release relay. The relay receives power from the DOOR LOCKS fuse. When the relay receives the ground from the BCM, the relay's internal switch closes sending B+ (via circuit 56) to the rear compartment lid lock release actuator. A ground is always supplied to the actuator through circuit 350. When B+ is received at the actuator through circuit 56, the rear compartment lid releases.

You could jumper pins at the rear compartment lid release relay , this would open it .

The four button remote with keyless entry and remote start on my 2001 buick lesabre has stoped working. The keyless and trunk and horn functions all still work fine just the remote start has quit working. ...

it maybe that the relay in the alarm module for the starting function has stopped working. your best bet would be an alarm shop where they can test the connection for function. have seen this issue several times. Does the engine turn over at all? if it does then the time for cranking may need to be adjusted.

Trunk latch

Check in the glove box for a push button to open trunk. Also along the driver's side floor sill (between the seat and the door). Along the bottom of the dash on driver's side, check there too. My son has a '92 Lesabre, and there is no trunk release-only the key opens the trunk.

It seems like the Trunk Release Actuator is not working. Most likely it will need to be replaced with a new one.

Trunk release button won't work, remote will

not entirely sure about your buick, but I have a 2000 pontiac that has a switch just inside the glovebox that deactivates the trunk switch. that, together with locking the glovebox would prevent someone with jsut the valet key from gaining access to the trunk area.
