look on the inside of the fuse box lid / cover. I am honestly not familiar with the Ford Thunderbird LX but you should know that sometimes the diagram is on the lid / cover but it is the same color as the plastic lid itself and could be difficult to see or notice. The same goes for the fuse box under the hood.

Had a similar problem. Replace temp sensor. It's a pain, and the dealer won't want to do it.

1. check heater's fuse. locate the fusebox under dash on driver side. check the 30A fuse

Check all grounds at the front, make sure they aren't disconnected or corroded.

There are two fuse boxes. A baqttery junction box under the hood on the drivers side and one inside on drivers side. Good luck.
