Airbag light stays on after ignition sequence and engine fire up. i recently returned home after four weeks away. I had removed the iod fuse before leaving in order to save the battery [as advised in the handbook if more than 21 days without driving] Could this have put a fault into the system. I had to put a code into the radio for that to function. The vehicle is totally stock with no electrical add ons. I.e. No work on the electrical system. Any ideas?

Have you checked for codes ? Might be your first place to begin checking on what is causing your air bag light to stay on.

SOURCE: Dashboard lights on 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport

Donna,

You can go to Auto Zone . They can scan the car for codes for free, and check the Alternator. I think with all the issue with the dash lights coming on, The codes should get a tech in the right direction. You could be right and the Alternator is the root cause of failure.

Good Luck

SOURCE: 2005 Gr Cher - abs light came on and message check

It is probably a wheel sensor not reading right. In order to read the abs system you have to have the program that reads this information.

Firing order of db15t v8 daewoo engine

The firing order for the DB15T V8 engine used in some Daewoo vehicles is 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3. This means that the spark plugs are ignited in the following sequence:
1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3
The firing order of an engine is important because it determines the sequence in which the cylinders are fired and the timing of the ignition of the fuel-air mixture in the cylinders. The correct firing order is necessary for the engine to run smoothly and efficiently.

B1801 Ford Escape 2002. The air bag light comes on the instrument panel in my vehicle and will stay on for a while then go away. I had someone test it for me and told me it was code B1801. It was at a...

Did you disconnect the battery recently...did you operate the horn.both questions related to what may originally cause the airbag warning light to stay on.if it was the battery being changed reconnected then you have to reset the airbag light.this is quite simple on Fords.
with the engine off ....ignition key into the lock open the drivers door and keep it open ....locate the button at the bottom of door for courtesy light....hold your finger on it...turn the ignition on so that only the lights on dash come on...do not start car....now press the door button 6 times within ten seconds and on the last count of six hold it in whilst turning off the ignition.then close the drivers door and start.the airbag light usually flashes for several seconds then it should clear.on some model fords the button press count is 5 or 7 so you may need to repeat ....on mine I discovered I had to open the passenger door after the procedure before turning ignition back on.a word about the horn.on older model fords the springs that sit in the horn housing also affect the sensor of the airbag in some models .the springs gets rusty or bunged up and operating it will cause the airbag sensor fault.never attempt to remove the cover of the horn assembly as you may fire off the airbag.just remember to reset the warning light... And get a mechanic to look at the horn if it continues to play up.Please remember if the airbag warning light is flashing it may mean the airbag will be disabled and will not deploy in the event of an accident, this also means the seatbelts may not lock on impact either.please vote if helpful thanks.

Drivers side airbag light stays on

It might be a defective clockspring in the steering column. This also may cause the cruise control to not work at all or intermittently.

Airbag and seatbelt light stay on in 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The lights randomly came on for no reason.

Just recently, I inadvertently removed the yellow doohickey that holds the 2 x 10 amp fuses in the interior fuse bank of my 2002 WJ Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. I checked the fuses and they were ok so I inserted the fuse holder back in.. Low and behold the seatbelt and airbag light came on and stayed on. After several quick fixes etc to get the lights to go out, I finally returned to the fuse holder and discovered that A. You need to squeeze in the tabs to get the fuse holder out and B. the fuse holder when being re-inserted will not automatically clip in... you have to squeeze the tabs again to press the fuse holder fully home. I started the old girl up again and no more lights.

Air bag light always blinking?

Mine came on when my car hit 120K mi. I also reset it using a sequence within the car.

Problem Scenerio: turn car motor on, car conducts self test, during which time airbag light stays on for 5-second (or 5 or 6-beeps)..it turns off for a second then flashes 'off and on'...and annoys the hell out of you as you drive...especially at night.

Solution 1: put black electrical tape (band-aid) over airbag light indicator...annoying problem gone.

However, in VA the airbag light can't be flashing to pass the annual car inspection, so....

Solution 2: Reset the Airbag light using the following sequence I discovered and heard about:

1. Turn key / ignition to 'ON' (Do Not Start). and await for the self-testing procedure to end (Air Bag Light stays on for about 5-seconds or '6-beeps')
2. As soon as the Airbag light turns off - turn the ignition to OFF position and count 5-Mississippi's (that's 5-seconds).
3. Then turn ignition back to 'ON' Position and repeat step 1 & 2 again.

Conduct Steps 1 & 2 - Three times in a row.

After the 3rd or successful timed sequence, allow the car to go through it's complete self testing stage and as soon as its done the airbag light will flash...but at a slower pace (That is good!) That means the cpu is resetting. Once you observe the slow flashing airbag light, turn the car off, then start it normally and the airbag light 'should' reset (not flashing and bugging the **** out of you).

Then, take the black electrical tape off the dash panel and throw it away.

This is no joke and it really works!! if you have any questions, contact me. [email protected]
