My power window is stuck half way up-can i pull it up and try and fix it later? the passanger side already stopped working but it's closed all the way. My drivers side is stuck and I need to get it closed. I am hoping I can just get it up without having to take the door frame off. Is that possible? This is on a Dodge Stratus 01

use two people cause the doors are pretty heavy and when you take ou the bolts one person will need to hold the door up

This sounds like a vcuum leak in one of the hoses and you can check this by getting a can of carburetor cleaner and spraying short squirts around the enging area. It the idle jumps up when spraying the try to locate why and where your sprayed. See if you can here a hissing like sucking air. Next step and you might as well check it any how is the aiir filter. Take it out and hold it to the sun or some bright light and see if the light is trying to filter through. If not and it is dark then knock it gently on something and try to get most of the dust and dirt off it. This may give it a quick fix but will need to be replaced pronto. If neither of these tips help then let me know and I will come up with some more test for you. Good Luck, Raz

SOURCE: have to replace the passanger side mirror on 2000

remove the triangle trim piece on the interior side of door (usually snap on a delicate pry with a flat head screw driver will do the trick)
next remove the (3) 10mm nuts securing the mirror to the door, next unplug the mirror by squeezing the plug connector, pull the mirror of the outside of vehicle. Reverse this order during installation and you should be fine.
Note the mirror may fall and scrath the paint while the nuts are off, keep a hand on the old mirror to prevent from falling during removal

remove the switch and check for continuity in the switch. If good then check the motor the same way. If either one shows numbers that do not hold steady replace them. it should hold steady numbers when read. if the display shows O L it means it is an open circuit which is faulty
