Hey guys my 2004 Jeep grand cherokee is overheating, when i stop or slow down what i think is my fan goes on and goes into overdrive and makes my car extremely loud to keep my heat down, it gets to around 240 when im stopped, but when i start going the loud noises stops and it cools down to 215, any help?
Sounds like one of two problems your fan is not working properly or you radiator is particularly restricted
WELL CHECK COOLANT LEVEL FIRST.TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE REPLACE THERMOSTAT AND RADIATOR PRESSURE CAP.IF COOLANT FAN FREEWHEELS OR TURN REAL EASY WHILE ENGINE HOT IT IS FAULTY IT SHOULD HAVE SOME DRAG WHEN ENGINE IS HOT.SHOULD SPIN EASY IF ENGINE IS COLD.
Several things there, radiator or hose clogged, coolant level, water pump, thermostat. Check few tips in WJ Jeeps.
