2000 GMC Sonoma 4x4 Has a constant loud Chirp that happens every few seconds whether idling or driving. I can not seem to locate where it is coming from but sounds like right under me in the drivers seat....

try this.. with the vehicle off..open the drivers door with the window down..sit in the seat and bounce up and down in the seat..listen for your squeak/chirp..I am thinking its either the seat mounts or the body mounts under the cab..you can spray wd 40 on the rubber cab mount bushings if you dont hear the sqeak when you bounce on the seat.. get out and grab the door by the far end of the window frame and shake the cab upand down.. you can use petroleum jelly on the seat rails under the seat for a lubricant..dont use regular grease because if you do..and get in with nice clothes on(and catch the bottom of your jacket under the side of the seat)..eeewww...if there is no sqeak, try starting..if you hear it now..its either mounts or a loose belt..

I want to see how much front spring sag on a 1994 Chevy C-1500 Std. Cab. 4.3 engine I can't find factory sepcs.

The short wheelbase C1500 is 194.1 inches long, 76.4 inches wide (plus one-half inch for Sportsides/Widesides) and 70.4 inches tall. The long wheelbase adds 18.8 inches of length for a total of 212.9. The K1500 measures the same but rides a little higher at 73.8 inches, or 74.3 inches for the heavy-duty diesel. The C2500 has a height of 73 inches, while the K2500's height is 74.3 inches and the K3500 is 76 inches tall. Length and width figures for the 2500 and 3500 regular cabs are similar to the 1500 series at 212.9 inches and 76.4 inches, respectively. The extended cab with standard box measures 236.9 inches long. The K3500 extended cab with long box measures 255.7 inches.

How do i get my spare tire down? special tool? where?

Hello! Here is procedure to remove spare tire...Guru...saailer

  1. Park on a level surface and put on the emergency brake. If the car is near the side of a road, switch on the hazard lights.
  2. Locate the tire repair kit. It consists of a jack, a jack rod and a wheel nut wrench. In the regular cab, pull the entire seat bench forward. The tools are located behind the drivers seat. The King cab model has a tool case located directly behind the driver's seat. The Crew cab stows the tools behind the back bench. Pull the bench forward and remove the tools.
  3. Insert the square end of the jack rod into the square hole in the nut wrench. This gives the jack rod a handle.
  4. Find an oval shaped hole in the back of the truck under the middle of the tailgate. Look through the hole and find the winch for the spare tire. It is a circle with two notches.
  5. Insert the T-shaped end of the jack rod into the hole. Slip the T-shape into the double notched circle of the winch.
  6. Turn the jack rod counterclockwise to lower the spare tire to the ground.
  7. When the tire is completely lowered to the ground, remove the center retainer chain and pull the tire out from under the truck.
  8. Wind the jack rod clockwise to completely retract the retainer chain

1987 GMC VanDura electric fold-down seat

If it's anything like my 1994 Vandura, you have a small panel of rocker switchers above the rearview mirror for turning your interior lights and other gadgets(tv, vcr, etc) off and on.

The leftmost switch on mine moves the electric bench seat up and down, *and* forward and back. The trick is that you have to hold it down to make it move.

With mine, even though there are four actions:
- slide seat forward
- slide seat backward
- fold seat down
- fold seat up
there is only one rocker switch.

So what you do is hold "up" on the switch and see what it does. If it slides the seat in either direction, up for your van is for both sliding forward *and* back. To do the opposite direction, just wait a second then press the same button the same way a second time.

If up makes it fold, it's the same principle. Hold the rocker switch depressed in the up position to make it fold up. Wait a moment and repeat to make it go down.

It wasn't intuitive for me either but once you know and play with it a bit it makes sense. Probably better than having four switches up there anyway :)

Good luck!

How do you lay down rear seat flat?

I just bought a 93 GMC Safari Van and couldn't figure this out either. Luckily, I did have the manual. It appears that the  lever under the front of the sofa moves in forwards and backwards. There is a lever on the corner of each side. Lift up on each and pull cushion forward. Also, you can push on the back of the sofa to help it go down. Hope this helps!
