There are anywhere from 3 to 4 vent, defrost, temperature control solenoids in the suitcase or under dash area. What it sounds like is that one of your solenoids which is electronic and is gear driven has a tooth gear where several teeth are broken and the gear cannot complete the cycle that is selected from the control panel. If it is the vent you are trying to open or close, then it is the vent solenoid that needs to be replaced. Bet to go on line to u-tube, in your brouser select your vehicle year, make, model and include 'changing vent solenoid'. You will get several video giving exact detail on how to check for a bad solenoid and then how to change it.

SOURCE: transmission fluid for 2007 pontiac G6 GT

This car does not have a auto trans dipstick, the level can only be checked by the dealer, this is a growing trend that started with most German cars, the filter is inside the trans pan and only needs changing every 60,000 miles.

SOURCE: Changing blinker on 2007 Pontiac G6

It's a monster pain to get to them, but it's doable. Once you empty the trunk, you'll see 4 black knobs - approx 1.5 inches in diameter. You'll need to remove all of these (they just unscrew, but they are plastic, so be careful not to strip the threading) in order to access the rear light assembly.

They're in there snug, but once you find the appropriate sized socket (I wish I could recall well enough to tell you what size, b/c I remember that it WAS an odd size), you'll have to remove all 3 bolts and then push the whole assembly out from inside the trunk.

Once the assembly is out, you will see the rear of the sockets, which simply push and turn to get the lamps out of. As long as you have everything open, I suggest changing ALL of the lamps (brake, tail, and turn signal) on BOTH sides, since the lamp life for all of these is about the same and it's such a pain to get to them in the first place.

If you look under the car between the rear axle and the fuel tank you should see the charcoal canister. The vent solenoid should be attached to the side of it.

Probably too late for you, but others may benefit as I just did this.
In your trunk on each rear side panel, you will find several rubber stoppers approximately 1" wide. take a flat head screwdriver and pry underneath to loosen then pull the stopper out.
Take a socket set you and find the right size socket for your nut and take out the 2 nuts on top and the bolt at the bottom (my bottom bolt didn't have a stopper on it).
Pull out the tail light assembly. Remove the bad bulb from the back of the assembly and replace with a new bulb (look up type of bulb to buy in your owners manual). Replace hardware and test lights.

No cold air coming from front vents?

Vent selections are sometimes powered by vacuum, and fail-safe to the defroster position when the flow is disrupted.

I have a Pontiac G6 GT Convertible.

it sounds to me, from what you're discribing, the a/c circuit has a large leak caused by a failure of a seal or hose. most times, manufactures put green dye into the refrigerant to make it easy to detect leaks. look in the engine compartment for signs of the dye.

I seem to be burning gas faster than normal. 2007 Pontiac G6. Why?

Are your tires low on air? Do you need a new air filter? Do you need a new fuel filter? Are you driving under different circumstances, like traffic or distance or freeway/street driving? The fuel economy you get is based on the summation of all kinds of factor.

Hope this sheds at least a little light on your question,
