If the security or anti-theft light is flashing when you attempt to start your car, and the engine does not crank or does not start, you have an anti-theft problem. The system may not be recognizing your key's key-less entry signal, or there may be a fault in the anti-theft module or wiring.
There is a reset procedure to stop this anti-theft light flashing.many a times this helps
The reset procedure is as follows:--
Reset the alarm by locking and unlocking the drivers side door.Do this a couple of times and then check it will reset the factory security system .
If the reset procedure does not helps then its time to get the anti-theft system checked. There is a short circuit in the anti-theft system wiring.

If its Flashing while driving. That means the car is running. This indicates the problem of either the computer in the car or the problem with ignition switch.Try the reset procedure first .The procedure is as follows:---
Turn the ignition on for 20 minutes, don't take the key out, turn off and start. Then check while driving the car.But if Reset procedure does not make any difference and the problem is same as before then its advisable to get the car scanned at car diagnosis center to get error codes.
Because the antitheft system in your car is controlled by a computer. Scanning the computer will give you some idea of what has failed. You may find a broken wire in the steering column or a faulty ignition switch or ignition key. You may even have a failed computer.
At www.autozone.com its free to get car scanned. So as per the error code which it shows in scanning you can get the faulty part replaced.
Thanks.
