Are there two fuel pumps on 2006 passat? I had repair work on my car at the dealer twice within a 10 ten days. During the initial repair I was told that I needed to have the fuel pumped replaced which is located in the back of the car. Then when I had to take it back because the engine light came back on & they're saying that there was a second fuel pump that needed to be replaced. (which is located in the front) I do know that there's a high pressure pump in the front of the car. I think they're trying to charge me for the high pressure pump twice & saying there's a second fuel pump in the front as well one in the back.

That is a cold start...on petrol engine check the plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter and air cleaner.while on diesel engine check the glow plugs and injector pump.
Thats very good news. Be advised that on your vehicles system, the ten minute trick resets the vehicles TDM. If the problem happens again in the future, your TDM is failing. It should never need to be reset (ten minute trick) unless it is failing. Be thinking about getting this replaced or bypassed so you dont get caught off gaurd. Good luck. Happy things are working again.
bad injector... its probly plugged... the way to tell is to start it and unplug only one injector at a time good injectors slow the motor bad one doesnt
I had the same problem with my wife's 2006 passat turbo. We lost 2.5 quarts in 3000 miles and the warning light came on. They put us on a 1000 mile oil test and I lost 1.8 more quarts of oil. They finally agreed to replace the rings. Service tech told me that the factory rings are defective, they begin to lead after about 25,000.
Possible flooding, cold weather can freez open injectors causing them to leak into the cylinders. Press the gass pedal all the way to the floor and crank the engine for no more than 60 seconds. The cylinders will clear themselves allowing proper mix of air/fuel and should start easy. If that does not solve please specify if the engine is 1.8l or 2.8l.
