I want to start a 1996 GMC p/u gas 5.7 on a stand & what wires

I pulled a gasaline 5.7L out of a 1996 GMC 2500 p/u that was wrecked. I carefully removed all of the wiring attached to the engine. I am going to put it in a hot rod. It was free & I don't like carburetors, I like the dependability of fuel injection, electronic ignition, & the improved rear main seal design of this era engine.
I want to run this engine on a stand & need to know what wires & sensors to have hooked up to start it. I got it to turn over & I got the fuel pump that was with that vehicle to supply gas to it, with the key switch on the steering column. It would not fire, but there was spark to the spark plugs. I do not know how to tell if the fuel injectors are working. But the spark plugs were wet, & the engine ran after the accident. Thanks, Jerry ---

You probably need the computer from the truck to make it run.

Tbi one floods and one doesn't work at all ,where should I start?

First check to see if they are getting the proper signal from the ECM. Use a noid light to see the signal. Could be bad injectors or wiring .
